What you can expect
Make your way to San Antonio Aguas Calientes, a Mayan village 30 minutes from Antigua. Meet your host and learn about the history of fire and mankind through an interactive presentation.
Try various ancient fire-making tools, such as a pump drill, bow drill, flint and steel, ferrocerium rod, and magnifying glass. Learn how the Mayans used to create fire with their own hands and hear about their mythology and rituals.
Make fire with a hand drill as the Mayans used to, then celebrate your creation with sacred Mayan incense. Use premium copal resin from the Biosfera Maya nature reserve, Petén, which has been appreciated as an offering to the Mayan gods since ancient times.

After the activity, explore our facility, which serves as a factory, shop, garden, and home, all in one. Discover other locally-made products, including chocolate, coffee, vanilla beans, chilli peppers, and coconut soaps.
You can get to the meeting point (our shop, “nobi”) easily by Uber or bus from Antigua.
- By Uber (approx. Q60 - Q90): Search “nobi”, it will take approx. 30 minutes from the centre of Antigua.
- By bus (Q7 per person): Take a chicken bus with a sign “San Antonio Aguas Calientes” at the Antigua Bus Terminal behind the Central Market. Get off near the Bodegona supermarket in the village then walk some 10 minutes to our place. Or you can take a tuk tuk, which should cost Q10 per ride.
- You can take the same bus at the Bodegona supermarket or Uber to go back to Antigua.
