Meeting Point: The tour begins at the bottom of Antelope Point Launch Ramp (accessible through Google Maps). Once there, you'll be introduced to your guide, who will provide all necessary kayaking equipment and a brief tutorial for beginners. After that you will walk down a steep sandy hill to access the water's edge and your kayak. You should be physically fit and comfortable walking down and back up a steep hill.
Main Channel Paddling: You'll start paddling in the stunning main channel of Lake Powell, surrounded by red rock cliffs and vast waters. Enjoy a 30 minute kayak paddle (approximately 1 mile) to the the entrance of the Antelope Canyon.
Antelope Canyon Paddle: Continue Paddling another 30 minutes to 1 hour to the back of the canyon. As you paddle deeper into Antelope Canyon, you’ll be captivated by the towering sandstone walls and the tranquil waters below. The canyon’s beauty is amplified by the sun’s rays filtering through the narrow openings, creating a mesmerising play of light and shadow.
Scenic Hike: Once you reach the back of the canyon, it’s time to park your kayak and embark on a scenic hike. You’ll walk through the narrow slot canyons, which have been shaped by millions of years of erosion. Every turn offers a new perspective of the sandstone formations and their vibrant colours. The hike takes approximately 1 mile into the canyon and 1 mile back out. Hiking distance and timing may vary slightly depending on the group's pace.
