What you can expect

  • Begin your day with a visit to the Golden Temple, a symbol of human brotherhood where people of any race, colour, or gender are welcomed and treated equally. This central religious place of Sikhs is a sure way to balance your peace and show you the beauty of humanity.

Next, visit Jallianwala Bagh, a monument of national history where the British army shot and murdered men, women, and children. The place has been preserved as a symbol by the community, where bullet holes on the walls are still visible. It is just a 2-minute walk from the Golden Temple.

Continue to Hall Bazaar, the oldest and biggest market in the city. Dating back to the 1500s, the market contains all types of shops and shopkeepers. Enjoy some free time to explore the market at your own pace.

Then, visit a Punjabi village, where you will experience Amritsar from a true Punjabi's perspective. Take a walk among crops, have a picnic under a 100-year-old banyan tree, and ride on a local bus if you feel like it.

Finally, head to the Wagah Border, the country border between India and Pakistan, where the “Lowering the Flags” ceremony is performed daily. Witness people from both sides of the border.
