Day 1: Addis Ababa City Tour
Begin your adventure with a visit to the National Museum of Ethiopia, home to Lucy, one of the oldest human fossils ever discovered. Next, head to St. George Cathedral, one of the most important religious sites in the country.
Continue to Mount Entoto for panoramic views over Addis Ababa, and then explore Merkato, Africa’s largest open-air market. End your day with a coffee at the Old Train Station.
Day 2: Debre Libanos and Portuguese Bridge
Leave the city behind and journey north through dramatic highland landscapes. Visit Debre Libanos Monastery, Ethiopia’s most important Orthodox Christian monastery, and the historic Portuguese Bridge over a deep gorge.
Enjoy spectacular scenery and photo stops at gorge viewpoints, and keep an eye out for gelada baboons along the cliffs. Experience a scenic countryside drive through traditional villages before returning to Addis Ababa.
