What you can expect

  • Travel back in time through the history, architecture, and curiosities of the Historic Centre of Paraty!

In a 90-minute guided walking tour through the Historic Centre, we will take you travelling back in time to the historical facts and curiosities about Paraty - recognised by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Gastronomy, and Biodiversity.

During the tour, we will guide you through the history of colonisation and original peoples, the influence of Freemasonry on the development of the town, as well as the Cycle of Gold, Sugarcane, Coffee, and Pau Brasil.

At the end of the tour, take the opportunity to taste the most famous Paratiense delicacy - Cachaça Gabriela, produced only here in Paraty. Cachaça Gabriela was created in honour of Jorge Amado's famous literary work 'Gabriela, Cravo e Canela'. A sweet mixture of white cachaça with honey, clove, and cinnamon makes this delicacy a unique experience of flavours - that can only be enjoyed here in Paraty!
