After a 1 hour drive from Avignon, visit the village entirely coloured with ocher and listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in France. Then about a 20-minute drive to Sénanque Abbey (during lavender season) or Bruoux Mines.
Abbaye Notre-Dame de Senanque

During the lavender flowering period (from approximately June 20 to July 31), marvel at the sumptuous landscape around Sénanque Abbey. Outside of the lavender flowering period, visit the sumptuous ocher mines of Bruoux (entrance ticket included) exploited until the second half of the 20th century. Then picnic for about 1 hour at Mines de Bruoux or around Gordes, and about 15 minutes drive to Gordes.

Photo stop in the village of Gordes, voted the most beautiful village in the world by the American magazine Travel+Leisure. Then about 50 minutes drive back to Avignon.
