What you can expect

  • DAY 1: ARRIVAL QUITO

    Upon arrival at Mariscal Sucre Airport, meet your bilingual guide for a comfortable transfer to your hotel, with assistance and local insights provided.

    • Overnight in Quito.

    DAY 2: QUITO – COTOPAXI

    Travel south from Quito to visit Ecuador’s rose plantations and Cotopaxi National Park. Explore Limpiopungo Lagoon, spot Andean birds, optionally ascend to José Rivas Refuge, enjoy herbal tea in the páramo, and have lunch at a mountain lodge.

    • Overnight in Cotopaxi.

    DAY 3: COTOPAXI – QUILOTOA – BAÑOS

    After breakfast at the hotel journey along the Avenue of the Volcanoes towards Quilotoa. Depending on the day, visit a traditional indigenous market such as Zumbahua or Saquisilí, full of colours and sounds.

    • Overnight in Baños.

    DAY 4: BAÑOS – RIOBAMBA

    After breakfast, drive to Runtún to visit the Tree House and Swing at the End of the World, enjoying views of Tungurahua Volcano. Continue along the Waterfall Route to hike to Devil’s Cauldron waterfall, then transfer to Riobamba for hotel check-in.

    • Overnight in Riobamba.

    DAY 5: RIOBAMBA – CHIMBORAZO RESERVE – RIOBAMBA

    After breakfast, visit Chimborazo Wildlife Reserve, passing indigenous communities and La Chorrera Canyon. Hike from Carrel to Whymper Refuge for stunning Andean views, then enjoy a traditional lunch at La Moya Community and explore the Mountain Museum before returning to Riobamba.

    DAY 6: RIOBAMBA – INGAPRICA – CUENCA

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    Today, we travel towards the Ozogoche Lagoons, passing by Lake Colta and visiting the historic Balbanera Church, the oldest church in Ecuador, built by the Spanish in 1534. Discover the mystical beauty of the Ozogoche Lagoons, a sacred site surrounded by the Andean highlands and steeped in ancient legends. Located within Sangay National Park, these cold, crystal-clear lagoons offer breathtaking scenery, perfect for connecting with nature, learning about local indigenous traditions, and, with some luck, spotting Andean birdlife. A peaceful and spiritual experience in the heart of the Andes.

    We then continue to Ingapirca, Ecuador’s most important archaeological complex, where you will explore the fascinating history of the Cañari and Inca civilisations.

    Finally, we proceed to Cuenca.
