Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp

After breakfast, drive to Machame Gate, the trek's starting point. Enter the lush rainforest, surrounded by towering trees and wildlife. This gentle ascent aids acclimatisation. Arrive at Machame Camp for your first overnight stay, resting in serene surroundings.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Scenic Views and Alpine Terrain

Today’s trek takes you from rainforest to the moorlands of Shira Plateau. Ascend through heather and volcanic rock, offering panoramic views of surrounding peaks. Reach Shira Camp at about 3,840 metres and enjoy the stunning scenery.

Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
Lava Tower and Barranco Wall
Hiking Time: 8 hrs

Ascend to the iconic Lava Tower at 4,630 metres for crucial acclimatisation. Then, descend to Barranco Camp while traversing the thrilling Barranco Wall, known for its scrambling sections and stunning views. Relax in Kilimanjaro’s rugged beauty.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp
Alpine Desert and Glacial Valleys

Trek from Barranco Camp (3,976m) through rocky terrain and alpine desert to Barafu Camp (4,673m). This 4-5 hour hike offers stunning views of Kilimanjaro’s slopes, preparing you for the final ascent. Rest and mentally prepare for the summit push.

Day 5: Summit Day to Mweka Camp
Uhuru Peak and Sunrise Celebration

Early morning, begin your summit push under the stars. Trek towards Uhuru Peak, guided by your team and headlamp. As dawn breaks, reach the summit and witness a breathtaking sunrise. Celebrate your achievement before descending to Barafu Camp and Mweka Camp for your final night.

Day 6: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Descent and Celebration

Descend from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate, retracing your steps through the rainforest. Arrive at Mweka Gate, warmly welcomed by our team, and receive a certificate for your summit. Bid farewell to Kilimanjaro and transfer back to Moshi to relax and reminisce about your adventure.
