Santa Monica (Pass by)

Welcome aboard, everyone! Today we'll be taking one of the most beautiful drives in Southern California. We'll depart from Santa Monica and head north along the world-famous Pacific Coast Highway, following the coastline all the way to Malibu. Along the way you'll enjoy incredible ocean views, pass some of California's most famous beaches, and see landmarks like the Getty Villa, Carbon Beach, Surfrider Beach, Malibu Pier, and Point Dume. We'll make a 30-minute stop at the iconic Malibu Pier before making our way back to Santa Monica. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride—this is California at its best!

Pacific Coast Highway (Pass by)

We're now driving along the legendary Pacific Coast Highway, or PCH, officially known as California State Route 1. This is one of the most scenic highways in the world, stretching more than 650 miles along California's coastline. The section we're travelling between Santa Monica and Malibu is especially famous for its breathtaking ocean views, beautiful beaches, and luxurious beachfront homes. It's been featured in countless films, TV shows, commercials, and road trip adventures, making it one of Southern California's most iconic drives.

Our journey will take us north along the Pacific Coast Highway all the way to Zuma Beach, one of Malibu's largest and most popular beaches. There, we'll turn around and begin our scenic drive back down the coastline, giving you a chance to enjoy the ocean views from a whole new perspective. From there, we'll leave the highway and head up into the hills to Point Dume, where you'll experience one of the most breathtaking panoramic viewpoints in all of Malibu. It's the perfect combination of beautiful beaches, dramatic cliffs, and classic Southern California scenery.

Point Dume State Beach and Preserve (Pass by)

Off to your right is Point Dume, one of Malibu's most spectacular natural landmarks. This dramatic bluff rises above the Pacific Ocean and offers panoramic views of the coastline in every direction. It's a favourite spot for hiking, photography, and, during the winter months, one of the best places in Southern California to watch migrating grey whales. Point Dume has also appeared in dozens of films, TV shows, and commercials thanks to its rugged cliffs and picture-perfect California scenery. On a clear day, you can often see all the way to Catalina Island from the top.
