Step Into an Authentic World. Our first ride takes you off the beaten track and deep into a tranquil Tay ethnic village. There are no staged performances here—just real life unfolding before your eyes. Get Your Hands Dirty. Next, we head to the spectacular rice terraces—an ancient, high-altitude farming masterpiece carved into the mountainsides. But you aren't here just to snap photos from a distance. We invite you to roll up your pants, step right into the cool mud, and learn the art of wet-rice farming alongside the locals. (Note: Mother Nature dictates the schedule, so the exact farming task depends on the current season, but we promise it will be a delightfully muddy, hands-on experience!)

Fuel Up with Local Flavours. Before we tackle the high mountains, we’ll stop for a hearty lunch. You’ll feast on authentic regional dishes, thoughtfully prepared and slightly adjusted to suit international palates. This means you get to experience the rich, delicious local flavours without worrying about an upset stomach interrupting your ride! Conquer Bac Sum Pass & Heaven Gate. With full stomachs, we begin our ascent into the rugged Dong Van Karst Plateau. Feel the adrenaline as we navigate the Bac Sum Pass—a spectacular 7-kilometer stretch of winding tarmac that climbs to 1,000 metres above sea level. We'll pull over at the summit so you can breathe in the crisp mountain air and look down at the ribbon of road you just conquered. From there, we ride to the famous Quan Ba Heaven Gate, the literal and figurative entrance to a jaw-dropping world of stone.

Discover Nam Dam Village. Just below the Heaven Gate lies Nam Dam, a deeply peaceful village belonging to the Dao ethnic minority. As we check into our homestay, you'll immediately notice the fascinating architecture: thick, rammed-earth houses built entirely by hand. This traditional design naturally keeps the homes cool in the summer and cosy in the winter. Wash Off the Dust at Nai Waterfall. After dropping our bags, it’s time to wash off the dust of the road. We’ll take a short walk down to Nai Waterfall (Deer Waterfall), a hidden gem nestled right next to the village. Dive into the cool, refreshing mountain water, swim freely, and let the roar of the falls wash away any lingering fatigue. Pure relaxation before the sun goes down.

A Home-Cooked, Farm-to-Table Feast After refreshing, follow the mouth-watering aromas to a deeply authentic, home-cooked dinner. We treat you to classic Vietnamese comfort food: caramelised pan-fried pork, soft tofu simmered in rich tomato sauce, fluffy rolled omelettes, and a warm soup made from greens harvested fresh from the village gardens today. How you spend the evening is entirely up to you. Take a peaceful, starlit stroll around the quiet earthen village to digest your meal, or simply kick back at the homestay, sharing travel stories over a soothing cup of local herbal tea. The Red Dao Herbal Foot Bath While this is an Eco-adventure, the Hà Giang Trip team believes you deserve a touch of nighttime pampering. Right before bed, we will prepare a traditional Red Dao herbal foot bath for you. Steeping your tired feet in this ancient, aromatic blend of mountain herbs is the ultimate remedy.
