Overview

A lovely 4 day slow and relaxing cruise from Bergen to the Hardanger Fjord, with stops for all the major attractions. Enjoy everything from your own private boat.

The captain will be at your assistance the whole trip, and make sure everything works perfect. We book and coordinate hotels, drivers and restaurants along the whole cruise.

Cruise can be customised as you like. We know the area very well, just ask and tell us what you want to see- and we will have it arranged.

Lunch and dinners are recommended and coordinated with restaurants by us, to be paid locally. Lunch and dinners at restaurants along the fjord. Breakfast either in the boat, or at a hotel close to the boat.

The boat have 2 cabins with Queen size bed, and one cabin with bunk bed. You can also sleep in hotels along the route, we will assist with recommendations for this if you like.

Starting in Bergen after breakfast, cruising out the fjords, leaving the city behind. Welcome onboard Passing sounds and archipellago, with a relaxing cruise towards Rosendal.

Stop in Rosendal, for lunch and visit to the Baroniet, manor from 1665

The Manor from the 1660`s is surrounded by beautiful and historic grounds, including a Renaissance garden, a romantic landscape garden and the kitchen garden. From Rosendal Garden you get a grand view of the enveloping mountains Malmangernuten, Melderskin and Laurdalstind, and of the waterfall Hattebergfossen and Hardangerfjorden. The garden has been built up over several hundred years of changing styles and fashions in gardening, Here you can experience more than 300 years of garden history. It is possible to have lunch on the beautiful garden restaurant at the manor.

Stop in Sundal if you like, possible for a hike up to Lake Bondhus

Furebergsfossen

Stop by the great waterfall next to the fjord, with excellent view from the boat.

Jondal Municipality

Jondal is our destination for the day, where we overnight. The captain dock the boat, and then leave you in private. Dinner at the hardanger house hotel in the evening.

Day 2: Excursion to Folgefonna glacier, possibility for private glacier hike. Cruise to Norheimsund.

Jondal Municipality

Waking up in the small town Jondal, where you can have breakfast in the boat, or at the hotel.

Juklafjord Cafe

Juklafjord is the meeting point for the tour to the Folgefonna glacier. If you are dong a glacier hike, the glacier team will meet you here, to take you with car up to 1200 metres above sea level, where the glacier starts.

Folgefonna National Park

Going to the glacier, possible with a private hike about 3 hours.

Jondal Municipality

Back down in Jondal we embark the boat again, to cruise over the Hardanger Fjord, going to Fyksesund- the best part of the Hardanger Fjord.

Cruising the Hardanger fjord, going to the best part of the fjord.

Fyksesund

The Fyksesund is the best part of the Hardangerfjord, a narrow branch of the fjord, with steep mountains and waterfalls. Very relaxing atmosphere in here, no roads or noise, just us and the nature. Possible to go for a swim, or just lean back and relax.

Norheimsund

After Fyksesund, we head for Norheimsund, the destination for today. Here we will stay over the night.

Day 3: Norheimsund, Various attractions here, before we continue in the Hardanger Fjord in the afternoon.

Cruise on the Hardanger Fjord from Norheimsund to Eidfjord. Enjoy the lovely fjord-view from the Flybridge on top. Arrival in Eidfjord late afternoon / early evening, in time for a great dinner at one of the hotels.

Hardanger Fjord

Cruise on the Hardanger Fjord from Øystese to Eidfjord village. Enjoy the lovely fjord-view from the Flybridge on top. Arrival in Eidfjord late afternoon / early evening, in time for dinner at one of the restaurants.

Eidfjord Municipality

Our destination for today, we stay here overnight. Dinner in one of the restaurants. Great start for the next day activities, like Vøringsfossen, Nature centre, Hardangervidda

Day 4: Eidfjord with Vøringsfossen waterfall + nature centre, then car back to Bergen (via Voss) in the late afternoon.

Eidfjord Municipality

Waking up in Eidfjord, and breakfast in the boat or at the hotel. After breakfast, our driver will met you, to take you up the Måbødal valley, to Vøringsfossen on top of the mountain plateau. A great viewpoint overlooking the valley with waterfalls. You will leave the boat at this point, and be with the car the rest of the day.

Voringfossen

Enjoy the spectacular and most famous waterfall in Norway, with a free fall of 145m, and a total fall of 182m. A great view from the Fossli Hotel and the Vøringfoss cafeteria & souvenir. Located next to "Touristroad Hardanger" Rv7, with several possibillities for photo stop. The development project around Vøringsfossen, with spectacular new viewpoints.

Fossli Hotel

Nice cafe at the viewpoint, with good coffee and vaffles, while you enjoy the view.

Måbødalen

Spectacular road to get up from the valleys to the mountain. Steep mountains surrounding the road, going in turns up the valley and through tunnels. The new exhibitions establish Norwegian Nature Centre as a state-of-the-art experience and teaching centre for natural and cultural history with a unique offering to complement what you can find in other visitor’s centres and in the outdoors.

Norsk Natursenter - Hardanger

The Centre is an exciting experience centre for Norwegian nature, climate and environment, and an authorised visitor’s centre for Hardangervidda National Park. The new exhibitions establish Norwegian Nature Centre as a state-of-the-art experience and teaching centre for natural and cultural history with a unique offering to complement what you can find in other visitor’s centres and in the outdoors. You will also have lunch here in the afternoon, in the Viking Hall. After lunch, the driver will take you back to Bergen, around 2 hours drive.

Bergen

When finished in Bergen, the driver will take you back to Bergen. It is possible to have a stop at Voss on the way back. Typically you are back in Bergen around 6 PM.
