Meet your guide in front of the FamilyMart right outside Namba Station Exit 14. Before heading to your first izakaya, take a short walk through the streets of Namba. Take photos with the famous Glico sign and Kuidaore Taro, while learning a bit about Osaka’s culture.
Then, head to your first izakaya for a welcome drink. Share a variety of Japanese dishes that pair perfectly with your drink, while your guide explains the customs and manners of Japanese izakaya culture.
Next, visit a cosy spot specialising in Japanese sake. Try several recommended varieties of sake, along with delicious snacks that complement the drinks. After that, take a short break and walk to Hozenji Temple, where your guide will explain the traditional way of praying at a Japanese temple. On the way, you might also enjoy some sweets or takoyaki from local food stalls.
Your final stop will be a super-local karaoke snack bar. Sing along with Japanese customers, enjoy all-you-can-drink drinks, and wrap up the night in true Osaka style. Before you say goodbye, receive a traditional Japanese souvenir to take home.
Food and drinks are shared among participants, and the total cost for all venues is usually around JPY 8,000–10,000 per person.
Please note that the guide’s drinks are also covered by the participants.
