Your two-day tour starts with pickup in Reykjavik at your hotel or a nearby bus stop. Settle in and enjoy a comfortable ride towards the South Coast, where the passing scenery looks otherworldly.
The day’s first stop is at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can even walk behind the waterfall. From there, you will continue your fantastic first day around the South Coast.
Further stops on day one include Gljufrabui waterfall, Skogafoss waterfall, and the famous Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. Your knowledgeable guide will give you information at each stop, and you will end the day with a new appreciation for Iceland’s unparalleled natural beauty.
But the most exciting part of today is hiking on Solheimajokull Glacier! You will get your professional glacier guide and all the necessary equipment, then please enjoy the adventure .
After a day of exploring this varied region, you will stop for the night at a hotel to rest and refuel in preparation for an exciting day two of the tour. Depending on availability, your hotel will be between the towns of Vik and Hofn, giving you will have plenty of time to explore the area!
Now that you’re well-rested and ready to take on another day, the second day of this South Coast tour takes you to see some remarkable natural wonders.
You will visit the famous Diamond Beach, only a short drive from Jokulsarlon. This black sand beach got its name from the numerous chunks of ice scattered across the sand, which sparkle like diamonds when the sunlight hits them. When arriving at Jokulsarlon you will go on a boat ride, sailing between the giant ice bergs floating on the blue water of Jokulsarlon.
We have additional stops at Eldhraun Lava Fields, The Bridge of the Volcanoes, and Fjadrargljufur River Canyon to complete our view of Icelandic nature.
Once our day is complete, we will return to Reykjavik. As we make our way to the city, we will drive through Vik again, and time permitting, take a stop to explore a little more.
