Day 1: Mountains, Myths & The Sahara Your adventure begins with a pickup in Djerba or Zarzis. We cross the Roman Causeway towards Medenine, where you’ll explore the vibrant local market and Ghorfas. Next, we climb into the mountains to Toujane, a stunning Berber village.
In Matmata, you’ll enter the underground world of Troglodyte houses and visit the Star Wars film museum. As evening approaches, we arrive at the Ksar Ghilane Oasis. Dive into the natural hot springs, enjoy an optional sunset quad or camel ride, and join a traditional desert party. Watch the “Mella” bread being baked under the sand before sleeping in a private tent under a blanket of stars.
Day 2: Hidden History & The Salt Lake Wake up to a Sahara sunrise. We head to Chenini, the spectacular mountain-top “hidden” village known for its camouflage architecture. After a guided hike, we visit Tataouine for a local lunch.
Before returning, we make a unique stop at the Zarzis Salt Lake. Unlike other tours, we stop when the light is perfect for pictures—you can walk on the salt, touch it, and even collect a souvenir of this shimmering natural wonder. We return you to your hotel having seen the best of Tunisia, without the tourist rush.
