The original name of this place is called Wangcun(King Village). Historically speaking, It’s 1 of 4 famous old towns with crucial locations in Western part of Hunan, which used to be very prosperous in ancient times. Now it’s still well-preserved in shape.However, Wangcun gains a much bigger fame by a controversial film named “Furong Town”, it’s been acknowledged as the one of the best films in all time in China’s film industry.but due to the sensitive storey about how people’s life is sadly impacted&changed by a row of political movements during different periods of China.so the film is banned in market,and Wangcun is the very shooting spot for this film. So the town is also named Furong town after the film.
