I expected a picture perfect stay. The only things that were slightly off:
1. mag-safe phone charger wasn’t working (they replaced it)
2. Breakfast was amazing but waiter never asked me if I wanted any juice.
3. The arrangement of the floors is a little wacky. The 41st floor is reception. You take an elevator to higher floors to reach the guest rooms. To get to fitness center you go to 45th floor for entrance and then a side elevator to 47th floor for actual gym/pool. Felt like solving a maze.
I love the two bar floors. Just like what I remembered from the film “List in Translation.”

We did really love this property and thr gardens are beautiful but unfortunately there was a huge construction site right next door that completed blocked access to the train station. We weren't informed about this when we booked so we were pretty disappointed about that. We did not eat at the property so cannot comment on the restaurants.

This was my first trip to Tokyo. The Grand Nikko exceeded my expectations. The cleanliness, beauty, attentiveness of each staff member and kindness upon needing anything. The location was perfect and allowed me to get anywhere within 15-30 minutes via cab and an easy walk to the train station. Highly recommend.
