Rooms were very clean and quiet. Staffs were very helpful in general, and vehicle used for transfer to Disney land was classy. Hot spring was awesome and relaxing. Restaurant food were great quality. Overall highly recommended.

My wife and I finally made a trip to China for the first time. When we were looking for a hotel that resembled the true character of chinese architecture we picked the Shanghai Royal Garden Hotel. We chose the Royal Garden for its exquisite looks, character and gardens. We were not disappointed. The hotel is made up of several separate multi level buildings offering a spa, workout, restaurants, halls for weddings and banquets and conventions. The main building for the guest rooms. The grounds look like an asian paradise and are so clean and manicured the guest are out walking around doing photo ops everywhere. The staff are very nice and were very helpful even tho I couldn't speak chinese. They used translator apps on their phones to communicate as I did too. They had a breakfast buffet in the mornings which was awesome. There was so much food to chose from. There is also a dinner buffet or you can go upstairs to the restaurant and order off there menu. The food for dinner was great too. When we booked this hotel we actually didn't consider the location in Shanghai. As it turned out it was a 35 to 45 minute car ride to the heart of central Shanghai where there's major shopping to do and all the touristy sites. Another alternative was the subway. There is a station right across the street which was so convenient, cheap and fast. If you used Didi which is like Uber over there it was awesome. It was cheap plus someone came very quickly. I definitely recommend here.

Was apprehensive when I read reviews about the hotel cleanliness. That was all dispelled when I was checked in. Lobby was grand and check in was quick. My room on the 9th floor was new and modern. Room was spacious and the king size bed was big. Review mentioned the water pressure was weak but when I used it, it was strong and adequate. See video. Aircon was cold, room had full length mirror and hair dryer which ticked all my boxes. Only complain is the mini bar fridge was not cold at all. Wifi could also be better but that could be due to China’s firewall. Else hotel room was great. The location of the hotel is also fantastic. It’s next to the Nanjing Pedestrian Road which is so convenient to walk slowly down to the bund with many shopping malls and shops/eateries along the way. Michelin guided Lai Lai dumpling with its delicious crab roe is just across. Hotel pick up and drop off for Didi is also super convenient. At check out, the hotel kindly acceded to my request for an hour later check out too. Absolutely top class service.

Absolutely loved this stay. Just a 10-minute walk to the Bund, with charming old houses along the way. The room was spotless, the bed super comfortable, and I slept like a baby. Great water pressure in the shower. The laundry room on the 4th floor was a huge plus—wash and dry in one go. Nice gym for a quick morning workout, and the rooftop terrace has an amazing view of Lujiazui at night. Front desk staff were friendly, efficient, and even recommended some great local Shanghainese restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

Spacious, functional and super clean room. Amazing view! Buffet breakfast with excellent selection. The location of the hotel is super convenient. Shopping, sightseeing and transportation are all within walking distance. Housekeeping staff are amazing and they keep our room super clean everyday during our one week stay. We will stay at Grand Hyatt again when we return to Shanghai!
