Hainan Waterpark Holidays

We enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable and the facilities were clean. The pool area was fantastic. Several different swimming areas with many different activities. Food and drink service at the pool and room service took 30-40 minutes. On our first day, lunch took over an hour to receive our food. We had to remind them of our drink order and that was received about 40 minutes after it was first ordered. Swimming is not allowed in the ocean. Overall, the staff was helpful and friendly but I was disappointed in the service times. Although, this is very typical of China.

Staff was friendly but only some of them spoke English or used a translator app for communication; all staff should be able to speak English. At least some of the amenities should be listed in English, with pictures, this would help immensely. The jacuzzi was not warm at all, but it lists the jacuzzi as an amenity. The towel caddy was not stocked so you needed to walk to the other pool to get towels, which was inconvenient. The swim up bar was never open and there was no wait staff servicing the pool area. The drink list included Margaritas, but the bartender did not know how to make them properly at all. Also, they do not have Chardonnay available, which should be a standard offering; the wine list was pretty much non-existent. The Guest Services Manager Erik was very nice and helpful; he was able to help us with internet access and advise us on local areas to visit. The gift shop had nothing with the name of the hotel and Sanya, no t-shirts or stuffed animals or anything else to showcases the location. The kids always like souvenirs that show where they have been. The property is beautiful and the gym is really nice too. Everything is clean and kept up nicely.
