Our 4 days stay at the Waipuna hotel Ambassador Suite was fantastic! The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and efficient, we love the quiet atmosphere and beautiful views of the Panmure Basin.
Room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and the bed was so comfortable, staff were very friendly & helpful.
Highly recommend.

The property is beautiful with an incredible view from the chalet, very calming and peaceful. Breakfast was great but very understaffed in the restaurant at dinner. We waited a long time to be served and then to receive drinks and meals. Lots of tables needed to be cleared of dirty plates. Friendly and helpful people but clearly very understaffed.

While the room was spacious, the shower could be improved. The shower was small, and the shower head appeared dated. The shower head had only one setting, and the water pressure was low.
Not all staff members were consistently courteous; some interactions felt less customer-focused.
For a 5-star hotel, the housekeeping service did not meet expectations: they did not remove unclean cups or utensils, sweep the floor, change stained or soiled bed sheets, or dust the nightstands and table, leaving the room dusty. I had to inform the reception desk so housekeeping could address the dirty cups and utensils and clean the room.
Another concern was that most TV channels were unavailable — many showed “no signal / the cable not connected” message.
The main advantages of the hotel are the location and the spacious room, aside from the shower area.

Room was spotless. Lovely staff. Breakfast was enough to feed an army and really good. Wish I’d chosen a different room as we didn’t have an outside window but other than that, it was perfect.
