Ulysses Riviera Fishing Holidays

Stay for a few days on our first time being in Rome. The area (East-end of Pratti) is very nice, quiet, pedestrian friendly and heavier with locales rather than tourists. The restaurant in the hotels provides an excellent breakfast. The staff clearly have experience working together as a team. 24/7 staffed reception was a helpful benefit.

They only serve meals at certain times. No bar. Everything was extra extra like spa, happy hour, pools, etc. Very overpriced for the quality of the hotel.

Rooms have beautifully traditional decor but have fine modern features like step-in showers and adequate air conditioning. Hotel is on a quiet, elegant, leafy residential street, but still convenient. It is in an early 1900's building that resembles a mansion but had been a US Embassy building. Most importantly, staff is especially knowledgeable and helpful.

Unfortunately, our stay at Hotel Splendide Royal Roma did not meet our expectations. The front-desk staff came across as quite snooty and unwelcoming, and our room had a very unpleasant musty smell. I understand that this is a historic hotel, but considering the price guests are paying, the hotel should invest in better ventilation, high-quality diffusers, or another solution to keep the rooms smelling fresh. We were also disappointed to discover that there is no swimming pool or spa at the hotel. Guests may use these facilities at the sister hotel, approximately 20 minutes away, but there is an additional charge of €40 per person on weekends and €18 per person on weekdays. I believe this should be clearly explained to guests upon arrival—or, preferably, before booking. Overall, we were not impressed with the service, facilities, or value. Sadly, we would not return.

Sadly we were only here one night and got in late but the room was clean, the AC was fantastic and the beds were comfy. We also had incredible black out curtains. My daughter was afraid she was getting sick so a long night sleep was exactly what she needed. We also loved the double queens, the high ceilings and the proximity to so many things. We will for sure come back next time we are in Rome.

Very clean and staff was great and helpful. Bartenders at rooftop bar made the experience very fun.
