The hotel was clean and safe, nothing special in terms of ambiance but in a great location for easy walking around central Reykjavik. There’s a Starbucks attached to the lobby, and a drinking water station nearby as well.

The people in charge were nice but the bathroom drains smelled horrible. The blackout curtains only worked in the rooms so whoever stays in the living room on the sofabed has no blackout option so it was hard to sleep. We ran out of toilet paper and it was not refilled so we had to go get our own. The other properties from The Residence Reykjavik looked much nicer than the one we got. Wished they would let you know which “house” you will end up in because I would not have picked that one.

We had a nice stay. Our room fit our 1 night need with a family of 4. A little noisy as we were on the first floor and it was Saturday night. That said check in and departure were seamless. Location is EXCELLENT right in the middle of midborough and close to everything.

Arnarhvoll sits on the Oceanside and near the harbor but absolutely walkable to the center. Very comfortable room with excellent bed. All amenities available. Sky the rooftop lounge/bar is exceptional ! Would def stay her again.

We wanted an early check-in so to accommodate that, was offered a room at their sister hotel across the street, the Center Hotel Laugavegur. We accepted and were able to get a nap and then explore the shopping district and walk to a well rated restaurant, Reykjavik Kitchen, to have a delicious meal. The location was very walkable to local attractions. The room was nice and the staff very helpful. The included breakfast was decent and typical for European offering.
