Great location and friendly staff

Travelers should know that this hotel is being renovated. No notice was provided and rooms were rented that are severely impacted by the ongoing construction. Standard double rooms are very small. Superior rooms are adequately sized. Construction work impacted stay for our traveling companions; particularly air conditioning. Our bathroom had a faint but distinct sewage odor. We were unable to try breakfast as it did not open until 7am and we had an early train. Overall, I am amazed that management continues to rent rooms during construction, they are doing guests well and themselves a huge disservice. On the positive side; the hotel location is great; good access to cafes and restaurants in old town.

Positives- Easy check-in. Arrived 1 1/2 hrs early and our specific room wasn't ready. We were offered a different room that had already been cleaned. Room was large and very basic. Comment was made that they were far behind in cleaning/preparing rooms. Efficient and on-time shuttle service. Good location, ten minute shuttle ride door-to-door. Average breakfast with various offerings. Filtered coffee caraf and warm milk a plus as opposed to the standard machine, where there is usually a line. Friendly and efficient bar service. Negatives - below standard cleaning of rooms and public spaces. Shower head and pressure was needle-like, and the hose leaked. No body wash in shower. Also no bathmat. Called for one and was given another towel. The next day towels were changed and there was a bath mat which is necessary due to the slippery tile floor. Very poor bathroom lighting. This is a very basic, below average hotel, especially for the price range.

The hotel is convenient, nothing fancy, but clean and nice staff. A block away from the lake front which is so beautiful to walk. No gym on site, but very conveniently close to a gym that is fabulous that guests are allowed to use! We had breakfast and drinks in the restaurant and everything was great!
