We were a group of nature lovers who were using this as a three night stay to get used to the temperature and time change upon arrival in Borneo. Loved the grounds and snorkeling right from the beach. Fantastic nature center staffed by several biologists. The food options were a bit pricey but we were expecting that. The grounds were very birdy and we found two Borean Pit Vipers. The mangrove tour was fantastic. Room is very good quality for the price.

Loved our stay. Rasa Sayang was as amazing as ever. Sad that the beach is gone.

Hi This will be the last time we write a review for the Bayview after nearly 30 years of stays due to the closure in October by the new owners for long overdue renovations it really does need. For 99% of the staff I truly wish well with whatever their futures hold for them and good luck in retirement for others as well deserved! We stayed on this occasion for 3 weeks (lucky for us) and we had booked 3 different rooms for all of us as the rest of our family group started arriving only for the last 2 weeks., Our rooms were on the 9th Floor and ours a full sea view, 2nd was a family side sea for my daughters family and a hillside for my adult son. We were there to celebrate my daughters 40th Birthday and all was well and we appreciated some of the challenges the staff had to deal with due to the impending closure. Due to costal erosion a tree had fallen and had to be chain sawed away but noise was kept to a minimum, On the event of her Birthday we could sit at the pool bar and have our drinks served to us there which we thanked the staff for as was an event dating back many years and many birthdays even though it is no longer open as a pool bar. As mentioned at the start that there was one member of staff who even after our return to UK with us raising a serious formal complaint re our sons room & loss of property reported to the night manager on the 5th June has still to be addressed and left a bitter taste in the mouth after so many stays and no issues to bring home.

We had a wonderful time here. We stayed for 3 nights in a superior chalet. As it was a basic chalet it was actually the best chalet we have stayed in, spatious, 2 air con units which kept us lovely and cool. Big bathroom and rain shower. The bed was huge and really comfortable. They also provide free insect repellent in the rooms and by the pool which we didn't find anywhere else on our trip. Wifi in the room and TV. There are steps up to our chalet which we found okay but people with mobility issues could just get the complimentary electric buggy to and from the rooms. The staff here are magnificent, so kind and caring and very attentive. We didn't opt for the all inclusive option as we don't drink so it wouldn't have been beneficial for us. Food was great, especially the burger on the lunch menu and we loved the refresher drinks menu. Happy hour is 4pm-7pm. We snorkelled everyday and used the kayaks also. All watersports are free to use which is the reason we chose this resort over gaya island resort and we thought the beach was nicer also. We saw some great fish around the Jetty, sting rays and a black tip shark. No jellyfish were seen which was great. We didn't use the gym but we went in to get the pickleball equipment and it was good, all the equipment you'd need, shower etc... We played pickleball in the rain and it was fabulous. Overall the staff here make the experience one of a kind. We would happily return and already miss being there!

The resort was beautiful, beach and pools were good and plenty of comfortable sun-loungers and fresh towels. Breakfast was good with a vast array of cuisines to please the many cultures staying at the hotel. Location was perfect for a beach still into town. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. We had a sea view room with balcony. However, the downside was that you could hear what was going on in the rooms above and to the sides of ours. General noise (children crying, prayer time, moving around) we could cope with but we had two nights of being kept awake by inconsiderate neighbours above us who were banging doors and cupboards and arguing, so much so we rang reception at midnight to complain. Nothing was done unfortunately until we raised it with the duty manager again the following day and we moved rooms. It did taint our experience as we were hoping for a relaxing stay and it was the most expensive hotel of our trip. The staff were helpful however and as the buildings are wooden, you are going to get some noise but this was beyond acceptable. So I would say you are at the mercy of your neighbours to a certain extent.

Room with the pool and see view. Spacious arrangement. Complementary Fruits. Friendly Staff. Entertainment. Free activities in the morning. Will enjoy more next time.
