Brilliant hotel Clean tidy very central Bangkok

Big balcony and great view

The staff is wonderful, which is true in all of Thailand. People are genuinely nice and warm. Breakfast was spectacular! Huge buffet with everything you can imagine, western, Asian, Indian. Smaller but also excellent buffet at the club. My problem with the hotel is that it’s old, probably built in 1980s. There is water damage thru the years and everything smells of mold in the rooms and even the elevator banks. Our first room was in the 25th floor where all rooms smell of mold. My husband could not sleep, had an allergic reaction to the mold, could not breathe, had to open the balcony and then was bitten by mosquitos all night, because there are no screen doors. Our son’s room on the same floor also smelled like mold. If that was not enough, our shower water would not drain, bathroom floor was flooded after 2 min. Thankfully they were able to change our room to the 29th floor. No mold smell in the room. Shower drained well, but there was water in the bathroom so there was still leaks somewhere behind the walls. Hallways also smelled of mold. Our sink would not drain but it’s big so we were able to manage that. Generally the hotel needs to be closed down completely and totally redone, walls ripped down and mold remediated

Very friendly staff providing excellent customer service. They're very helpful and very respectful. Had a good stay. Only thing is that the hotel management should look at renovating this place. It has lots of minor issues which makes things very odd and inconvenient. The bed mattress are really bad, I had lots of pain every morning when I got up plus couldn’t sleep well for few nights.
