What to expect during your activity

Activity and tour organisers, companies that run popular attractions such as theme parks and museums, and agencies that offer ground transportation are enhancing routine cleaning procedures and putting new processes in place to help to protect you and the staff when you're at an event, activity, or attraction.

Tip: When you're shopping for things to do, you can search for activities using enhanced cleaning practices by selecting the Enhanced cleaning filter. You can find out more about what activity organisers are doing by reviewing the Cleaning and safety practices section under About this activity.

Our activities partners are providing us with information regarding the following practices:

  • High-touch surfaces cleaned and disinfected
  • Vehicles and venues cleaned with disinfectants
  • Vehicles and venues kept vacant between travellers
  • Contactless ticket redemption
  • Social distancing measures in place
  • Protective shields in place at main contact areas
  • Personal protective equipment worn by staff
  • Temperature checks given to staff
  • Temperature checks available
  • Masks required
  • Hand sanitiser provided
  • Individually-wrapped food options available

Hours of operation

Opening and closing times may have changed or activities and ground transportation may not be running as regularly. You may want to call ahead of time and check their most up-to-date hours of operation.

Group sizes

There may be limits on group sizes and total capacity to help manage social distancing and allow for more frequent or deeper cleaning procedures.

Access to hand sanitiser

You may find hand sanitiser at key areas to help keep your hands clean and germ free. However, we still encourage you to bring your own personal supply of hand sanitiser and sanitisation wipes if possible.

Personal protective equipment

You may have access to personal protective equipment such as face masks and gloves. However, we still encourage you to bring your own personal protective equipment and we encourage you to use it whenever you're making use of public transport.

Seating and social distancing

You may be required to sit further apart to allow for social distancing. Some waiting areas may have floor markers and blocked seating to further reinforce social distancing. You may also want to consider waiting for your train or other ground transportation outside of the designated waiting area.

Food and beverage offerings

You may want to pack your own meals and snacks as some transportation services are not providing on-board catering at this time.

Health screenings

You may have to cooperate with health screening checks upon entry or at the start of your activity to help ensure the safety of all guests.

Staff precautions

Many companies are providing additional hygiene training and personal protective equipment such as disposable masks and gloves to their staff.

Concierge services

Many concierge services are implementing social distancing measures, using protective barriers, and requiring staff to wear personal protective equipment as they work with you to schedule activities.

Event tickets

If you’re travelling for an event, check to see if it’s been postponed or cancelled. For event tickets purchased through ticket marketplaces such as CheapTickets, make sure you review policies related to cancelled and postponed events.
