First time travelling Aer Lingus and I was impressed! Good food and a little snackbox nearer the end of an 8hour flight. Good leg room in economy and a good selection of movies and tv
Best experience with check in I’ve ever had. So easy and fast.
Ground staff, Belinda, was extremely helpful at automated check in, really confusing for first time. It would have been helpful if machines said “tap to begin” instead of the message displayed.
Cabin baggage issue. We had one small bag within size. Flight steward warned us that he might ask us to stowe it under the seat in front of us. Not happy and told him this was (a ) discriminatory (b) would mean no leg movement whatsoever as we were both over 6 ft tall and our knees already hard up against seat in front of us. We saw others with two cabin bags. A carry trolley and big back pack. He should pick on those customers instead. Why is it that airlines, hotels and other transporters allocate seats/Rooms in alphabetic order? People with surnames like ours nearly always get allocated last seats or rooms furtherest from the lift etc. This is discrimination. We often book early yet we still get the last in almost everything. Someone who may have booked late but has a surname starting with a letter from the first few letters in the alphabet get better seats and room location. Furthermore, as we are last in the plane we often miss out on our choice of menu or drink because everyone else before us has taken first choice. Again, an unfortunate consequence of being unfortunate to have a surname starting with "Z". Not a fair practice and the industry should practice seat and room allocation according to time of booking. That way, all people who commit early have a better travel experience and not lag behind those who booked late but have a surname that starts with any letter from say A to G.
Would fly again
Expedia booking was easy and as per booking. Reviews made me nervous but we had a great experience and got a better layover time than was possible direct with airline or other services
We. Found it difficult to know what our baggage allowance was, had no allowance for checked bags and so only had carry on. Not happy we are flying out of Heathrow after flying into LCY
