Not worth the price and you may not get a locker
Booked 1 pod for 3 nights. When I arrived I was informed my booking didn’t include a locker, evening though that was not stated in the listing. After staff looked into it, I was told that while the booking SHOULD have said that there was no locker (and didn’t) that it also didn’t say a locker was included (just implied from pictures in the listing and other travelers’ reviews) so I would be without one. They offered to give me an open locker the first night but said I wouldn’t have one in the second night and would have to pay 10CHF the third night for an available locker (after just telling me that the cost for a room with a locker is the same as a room without). After some back and forth with the employee who then talked to the manager they agreed to let me use the locker on the third night without charge. Even better though the charge was waived, the way the situation was handled by staff, including trying to tell me that even though it wasn’t my fault that I didn’t have a locker they would get away with a technicality on it, seemed unprofessional and frustrating. The stay after was subpar. While the privacy of the pods is nice, the blackout curtain does not cover the whole door and the beds are super creaky and loud whenever you move. Bathrooms and showers were dirty. Overall definitely not worth it for the price.

Dear guest,Your reservation clearly states in the rate plan that the capsule you booked does not include a locker. We understand that mistakes can happen, but we find it unfair that you blame your lack of planning on our staff member; they did the best they could in solving the matter since we were fully booked on these nights.

Everything was very clean and I felt very safe! Everyone was super respectful of others and it was very quiet at night. If you’re looking for a place to party and hang out, this probably isn’t it, but I was exhausted from travel and found it perfect to unwind and get a good sleep. Staff were very nice as well, showers were clean, no complaints!

Perfect for a solo traveler
The bed was comfortable and clean. Check in was simple and the storage lockers had plenty of space. The shower and toilets were roomy with hardly anyone crammed on top of each other. This hostel is no frills. No bar or common area to mingle with others. It’s perfect for a place to sleep without friends. The provided towels are small. There is a towel drying rack available to use.

While there is nothing outright dishonest in the description or photos, they really don't do a very good job explaining what it's actually like to stay here. The experience is a lot closer to a hostel than a hotel, and even judged as a hostel, this place is severely lacking in amenities. The "capsules" are really nothing more than claustrophobic bunks. There are over 50 bunks in a single room. This means that your chances of not having a sorer in your room are basically zero. The only common space in the entire place is the lobby, which is very sparsely furnished. If all the lobby chairs are taken, you have nowhere to sit down but your capsule, where you have to be extremely quite because again, 50 bunks in one room so odds are no matter the time somebody's sleeping. There are no tables or desks available for guests to use. The bathrooms were very hot and humid, and a single pair of male and female bathrooms serves all 50 bunks. The showers don't have any dressing area, so you're expected to get dressed in the shower stall's vestibule, which doesn't even have enough room to turn around without stepping into the shower itself. The lockers are all in the lobby, which makes them annoyingly far from the bunks. Compare this to a hostel, where you'll often find a common room, and bunks separated into smaller dorms, each with their own bank of lockers and bathroom. Not only that, but a typical hostel will be much cheaper than this capsule "hotel".

Dear Richard Thank you for your time writing a review. We have full understanding for your experience. But the service and its quality we offer is listed quiet transparently. By design this is a space for the guests to be at the centre of Zürich. Naturally, it does not serve as a space for prolonged hangouts during the stay. This very functional design is in such way construed to encourege the guest to have the basics he needs for a sleepover in order to experience other destinations of immersion in Zurich (although we emphasise that the guest is provided by multiple services within his capsule incl. plugins, small table, and mirrors). Which is why we initially opted against the concept of "common area". Nevertheless, we're commited to improving our service which we offer continually despite our efforts. Lastly you should know that if you don't value the capsule hotels then it might have been more suiting for you if you booked a basic hostel as you indiacate your appreciation to, which is a fair perspectice. We wholeheartedly thank you for your visit and wish you a great journy/travel Best, Team

I had not fully realised this was a hostel and not a hotel ! Good location in Zurich. Friendly staff but no local information available, maps etc. Set-up good for backpackers, poor for business folk. Nowhere to hang jackets etc. Good value.Website poorly set-up

Not a good experience. This property is referred to as a 'hotel', but actually it's a hostel. Also, I booked what was referred to as a 'capsule room', but actually it's a bed in a hostel. The receptionist was reluctant to help and abrasive, when I pointed this out and asked for a refund. Disappointing. The dorm room did not smell good either, not a good experience.

This is a hostel and not a hotel. Having said that the location is perfect and this is probably one of the cheaper options in this area. When I checked in the bed was not ready and it was one hour past check-in time, had to wait for about 30 mins to check in. All in all I would stay here if you don't care about spending time at the hotel and just need a space to sleep.

This place in a nice location with easy access to the tram and not too far from the main station. The lake of Zurich is within walking distance and there are a lot of restaurants within a few blocks away. The rooms, however stank like dirty feet. They had a dirty smell. They do have plenty of bathroom stalls and showers, so you don’t have to wait on anyone.

Perfect place in zurich
It was wonderful. I just wish there was a microwave. Not even an entire kitchen, but just a microwave, so i wouldnt have to eat out so much, which is quite expensive in switzerland or eat sandwiches from the supermarket. The hotel itself is lovely and i would love to go back.

A great hotel - conveniant transport access
A great hotel and a minutes walk from Helmaus tram stop and about 5 minutes from Stadelhofen S-Bahn station which has direct services to the airport. I used this hotel on an overnight stopover in Zurich and it was alot cheaper to stay here, plus train tickets than staying in the airport transfer hotel. I was greeted by the lovely staff on arrival and the bed was really cozy and comfy.

Nice staff...Yes, it is cheaper than most of the hotels in nearby area. Yes, it is close to train station. Other than that I would not recommended this place. I booked a female dorm, which was only separated by a curtain in a huge romm with about 40 beds. The curtains for each bed was not blocking the room light entirely and i could not do anything about it. The shower/toilet was disgusting when I try to use it in the morning. No common place, to sit and chat, so people talk in near the beds and it is very disturbing.

Only if you're desperate and under 25
I'm not sure why this hostel advertises on a hotel site. The "capsule" is actually just a bed with a curtain that lets other people's light and noise in. The river view is only from the balcony. The hostel consists of 3 rooms: an unattractice, bare reception (sooo many people needed to speak to them but of course they only come in at 2pm), and two rooms divided up into sections separated by only a curtain. 8 beds to each section, 4 sections per room i think. So 8× 4 (or 5?) people in one medium sized room. Shocking that this is allowed during covid times. I think i was the only one wearing my mask. For all these beds (50 lockers so maybe same number of beds) there is ONE female bathroom anf ONE male. The 7 bathrooms they mention in their description, are acutally 7 stalls: 4 toilets and 3 showers. I didnt see anyone cleaning the bathroom at all in the morning when literally dozens of women used the bathroom, one after the other. This is definitely a one night only kinda place and only if you're really low on money. They should learn from the Hyve in Basel, which charges the same price or lower, but is like a 5 star hotel compared to this unattractive and unclean hostel. Never again.

Comfortable and clean capsules
The Green Marmot was an overall excellent stay. It is located in the heart of Zurich downtown. It was within walking distance from the SBB train station (10 minute walk), and very accessible by trams and buses. It was convenient to set down luggages after checking in at 3pm. The hotel was within walking distance (less than 15 minutes) from most major attractions. Would highly recommend for those who are flying in from Zurich. The capsule was comfortable and clean. Each clausule has a curtain which provided some privacy and good ventilation. The sleeping area was quiet and private. I felt very safe even in the midst of Covid. The bathroom was overall clean. Towels were provided. I wore shower shoes for personal preference. Overall it was a comfortable and cost effective place to stay in Zurich. I would come back again before flying out of Zurich.
Common area for the capsules was clean and comfortable. The women’s section has a balcony exit facing the court yard.

C'est la deuxième fois que je viens dans cet hôtel avec ma fille adolescente. j'avais peur d'avoir des problèmes a cause de mon heure d'arrivée tardive mais ils ce sont rendus disponible pour moi sur appel. ils sont présents pour leur clientèle (Mais de 14h00 a 22h) jeunes, sympas. la rue est super bien placée, mais pas trop bruyante car le couloir avec la capsule N° 23 donne sur une cour intérieure.j'aime. j'y retournerai.

Nice staff
Staff were very friendly. Good price for Zurich. Free coffee, tea, chocolates, ear plugs. Comfortable bed. They supply towels but didn't have any available for me. Also the curtain for the pod capsule has a 6 inch open space where people can look into your pod. So wasn't very private.

En realidad el servicio y la atención del personal es muy bueno, sin embargo en el medio de la noche un sujeto empezó a orinar el piso, Justo afuera de las cápsulas, desgraciadamente en las instalaciones no hay nadie del hotel para que pudieran hacer algo al respecto.

Even our cleaning staff did not report such an incident (there were no marks or smells).Although our reception is not open 24 hours a day, our support team can be reached through the night by phone or email.
