The best area to stay in Zgornja Besnica is within the village centre itself, particularly around the main road, Cesta na Besnico.

This area provides convenient access to local amenities and the surrounding natural beauty. It's a small, spread-out village, so staying centrally means you're close to the local church, a few traditional guesthouses, and any small shops or eateries. The layout is quite rural, with properties often having gardens and views of the surrounding hills and forests.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will find the village centre ideal. It offers a quiet base from which to explore the hiking trails and natural landscapes of the Slovenian countryside. You're well-placed for walks along the Besnica stream or drives to nearby attractions like Lake Bled, which is a short drive away.

Families will also appreciate the village centre for its relaxed setting. Many accommodations here offer ample space, often with gardens, which is superb for children.

The best time to visit Zgornja Besnica for pleasant weather and outdoor activities is during late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October).

During these months, the weather is generally mild and agreeable, great for exploring the surrounding nature without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter. You'll find the countryside green and lush in spring, with wildflowers in bloom, and vibrant with autumnal colours later in the year, offering excellent conditions for hiking, cycling, and enjoying the scenic beauty of the region.

Families with children might prefer the summer months (July and August) when temperatures are warmer and school holidays make it an ideal time for a longer break. While it can be hotter, the opportunity for swimming in nearby lakes or rivers and longer daylight hours for outdoor adventures can be appealing.

Winter (December to February) offers a different kind of beauty, with snow-covered landscapes and opportunities for winter sports in the nearby mountains.
