On Swansea Canal aqueduct over the Twrch at Gurnos This portion of the disused canal is now dry but the south side towpath is a public footpath and may even be part of the mercurial cycle route 43.

Raised field boundary in former coalfield There have been several collieries here over the years. The sunken fields choked with wet reeds suggest to me that this is restored open cast land. The fence has been erected on a raised causeway which provides much better access than the fields either side.

The Ystradgynlais History website states that the Gorsedd Stones were erected for the National Eisteddfod of Wales held in Ystradgynlais in 1954. Although the main festival was held on the rugby club fields, the Druid ceremonies which form the essential core of the tradition were held here.
