"I’ve stayed here multiple times when it was called the Sunshine Resort. Recently, they renovated this property and it is back to its original splendor. Definitely book an executive level room with the beach view and outdoor tub if you can. There is a free drink and appetizer lounge for executive level room customers and other perks. Ride the bikes around the island. Beautiful property and surroundings. "

"Very spacious, lovely modern decor, so you get both a lovely 5 star stay but being able to enjoy the old town once you step out. Staff are friendly, able to tell you what are open for the night on a map (as it was a public holiday when we went). The breakfast is also worth it (just 1000yen pp?), not the type with luxurious ingredients but it was all nicely laid out and a very comfy cafe which you can easily spend half a morning there."

"Wir waren im April 22 für sehr schöne 5 Tage in diesem Haus. Das Kokoro bietet die fast einmalige Gelegenheit, in einem traditionellen alten japanischen Haus zu leben. Im Obergeschoss sind Wohnzimmer, Schlafzimmer, Ankleide, Balkon und Toilette. Im Ergeschoss wird gefrühstückt und befindet sich das Badezimmer mit grosser Holzbadewanne. "The hotel is well located at Uwajima station. Excellent breakfast, full traditional Japanese variety of dishes, very comfortable room, clean and fully equipped. But the standout were the staff, so helpful and kind, very supportive of a non- Japanese speaking traveller. Thank you all and I’ll be staying at the Clement next time I visit Uwajima."

"We are traveling in the Shikoku Rail pass, the walk to the hotel from Goro station was about 20. We used a bus and taxis to get into Iyo Ozu town. The area around the hotel has built up afoind the interchange so s good vsriety if shops and restaurants around the hotel. The rooms were a bit small for two but workable. Lots of amenities such as breakfast included (excellent btw) a happy hour at 8 with non and alcoholic beverages until 8 Pm. The hotel has s large onsen style bath which is excellent. Hotel staff are super nice and helpful, calling us cabs as needed"

"This was by far the nicest room/resort we have stayed in. After being cramped in many Japanese hotels and ryokans, this was much much larger with three queen/full size beds, a 65" TV and an outdoor bath (mineral salts available in the lobby). However, please understand that as this location is very remote, dining options in the area and transportation may be limited. This may be why we didn't see any foreigners there? However, they do provide pick-up service to and from the Shin-Iwakuni station depending on the room you're staying in given you contact them at least three days in advance. Although our Shinkansen was unexpectedly delayed by two hours due to rain/lightning, they patiently waited for our arrival and did not leave us stranded. Perhaps the only downside was that we only stayed two nights as I felt we could've done with some more downtime and taking advantage of the amenities including the bikes and SUPs. I hope to return again soon, staying for a longer time next time. Thank you Marissa Resort for giving us an incredible and memorable vacation!"
