This is a good central hotel in the “older” part of Jingjong. It is a short 10 min drive from the airport, train station and the amazing night market across the river. The hotel itself is good. Staff are very friendly (no English spoken) and the room are good and the bed is comfortable. The only drawback was the air con was hopeless and the room got very ward. I asked for this to be addressed but I think it’s a hotel wide problem. There was plenty of nice restaurants and bars nearby and I hight recommend crossing the river the the night market and entertainment area. Truly amazing place !
an american in jinghong
this was my first visit to jinghong and i came primarily to visit and learn about the pu'er tea growing areas in the surrounding areas and ended up thrilled with the hotel and the city of Jinghong
Reviews of the local hotels, from a western perspective, were pretty scary altho most reviews were a year or two old. I finally decided on this one believing it was the best of a poor lot but I was very pleasantly surprised and consider it one of the best, certainly by value, of any during my 3 weeks of travel in China, Laos and Thailand.
The hotel itself is of a grand style ,well maintained and the rooms are large and well appointed and properly cleaned each day. Large marbled lobby that seemed constantly being swept and cleaned , impressive art and antiques scattered around- and a large friendly staff.
Jinghong is a very popular tourist destination for chinese - but these days nearly everywhere in China is packed with travelling Chinese. Jinghong , though busy, is relatively laid back with little crassness and pushiness and many very nice outdoor dining cafes along the tree lined avenues adjacent to the hotel.
The primary difficulties were that no-one behind the desk spoke English and I am basically illiterate in Chinese. This could be a big problem for some but if you want to go to Jinghong - and I highly recommend it - then you need to have patience, a sense of humor, and a good translator app on your tablet or phone and a sense of adventure.

Thank god for my Translator
Flight from Lijiang to Xishuangbana all good. No one spoke English. Tourist information, no one spoke English. Our driver collected us from the airport, all good. Arrived at the hotel, no one spoke English in the hotel. The room was quite comfortable. Out to the Mekong Cafe nearby, good food, good service, all english speaking staff, all VERY good. Back to the hotel for the night, next morning for a Western Breakfast... Fail. All Chinese - and no one spoke English...
