The best area to stay in Xares is the "Ensanche" district, particularly around the Praza de Galicia and the Alameda Park.

This area forms the modern heart of Xares, characterised by its elegant, wide avenues and a grid-like layout, making it very straightforward to navigate. You'll find a high concentration of quality hotels, upscale boutiques, and a diverse range of restaurants and cafes along streets like Rúa do Vilar and Rúa da Raíña. The Alameda Park offers lovely green spaces with views of the old town.

For couples, the Ensanche provides a sophisticated base. You're within easy walking distance of the historic centre for sightseeing, yet you can retreat to a more contemporary setting with excellent dining options for evenings out. The proximity to high-end shopping and a relaxed atmosphere makes it ideal for a comfortable and convenient stay.

Solo travellers will also appreciate the Ensanche for its convenience and amenities. With everything easily accessible on foot and a good selection of quality accommodation, it offers an easy experience.

The best time to visit Xares is during the late spring to early autumn months, specifically from May to September, when the weather is most agreeable for exploring and enjoying the region.

These months offer warm, sunny days, ideal for experiencing the stunning beaches and outdoor activities Xares and the Rías Baixas region are known for. You'll find the sea temperatures are pleasant enough for swimming, and the longer daylight hours allow for extended sightseeing and al fresco dining. This period also coincides with various local festivals, providing a glimpse into Galician culture.

For those looking for a slightly quieter experience with still wonderful weather, May, June, and September are particularly good choices. The peak summer crowds of July and August are less prevalent, yet the weather remains consistently pleasant.
