Paringa Beach House, 500m to the beach

If you've fallen in love with the quiet hamlet of Wye River, like many people have, for its small community feel, great coffee, and a pub with the million dollar sea views, you'll also know the hills that characterise Wye River and climbing up and down them at the beginning and end of the day. Climb no longer... you can walk down a flat road to the beach and not have to get into your car the whole time. Easily carry your beach gear over the road and walking with small children is very easy.
A modern beach house, 500 meters to the beach, cafe & pub with all the amenities and cozy comforts of home. This beach house makes family holidays easy as it comes with a porta-cot, high-chair, kids books and toys and games. A Castle & Cubby cubby house tops it off outside for hours of independent play.
Super kid friendly but also perfect for a romantic getaway. Fireplace and heating for a winter getaway or sleep to the sounds of crashing waves in summer with the doors open! Fire pit for bonfires to top it off.
Generally, we are a pet-free house. However, if you have a small dog who you would love to bring with you, please contact us to discuss.

The House:
The open plan livingroom and modern kitchen has Smeg appliances, built-in oven, microwave oven and induction stove-top. The dining area has a 2.5 metre long table that sits 8 people comfortably.
Relax on the couch and look out onto the deck, watch the parrots or koalas in the trees or sit back and keep warm by the fire or if you feel inclined watch a movie on the 46" LED TV. We have provided an Apple adaptor to connect your Apple devices and there is a DVD player, but no DVDs provided. There is also no WIFI (thank us after!).
The master bedroom has a queen bed and a private sitting corner where you can curl up with a book and look out at the sea. The ensuite has a big open shower and the bedroom has it's own access through sliding doors to the front deck.
The second bedroom also has a queen size bed and has glimpses of the sea.
The third bedroom has 2 bunk beds and sleeps 4 easily. With lots of kids toys in the wardrobe, they'll feel right at home.
The main bathroom has both a walk-in shower and a bath tub and a washing machine.
The living area opens up to the deck with a new Weber BBQ and an outdoor dining table for that sits 6.
The Neighbourhood:
Amazing beach and walks in the bush. House set under the trees but 1 street back from The Great Ocean Road so you can hear the waves crashing.

Escape the bustle in the city or even Lorne and relax in the Great Ocean Roads best kept secret. Wye River has everything you need for a relaxing holiday including great coffee, amazing bread baked daily, a pub with stunning views and great food and a huge beach that suits swimmers, surfers and little kids who can splash about in the quiet river for hours at a time.

The general store sits next to a great playground where you can watch your kids whilst enjoying a coffee or head across the the beach with its own Surf Life Saving club for hours of beach fun.

Just 15 minutes past Lorne, directly along the Great Ocean Road is Wye River which among its 200+ inhabitants is the home of many koalas, cockatoos, kookaburras and parrots.

There are many walks in the area as Wye River sits on the edge of the Otway National Park. Continue along past Wye River to Apollo Bay and on to the 12 Apostles to complete your trip along the famous Great Ocean Road.

Getting around:

There is a bus that runs along the Great Ocean Road 3 x a day that takes you to Melbourne and back.
When you are in Wye River, you can park the car and walk everywhere.

Other things to note:
Everyone in Wye River is on tank water & septic systems so please be prepared to take special care with your water use.

Could be awesome with some love
Amazing location and outlook but could do with a little love and a good deep clean. Range hood and bbq was dirty, lots of dust, couch was old, scuffs on wall. But heaps of toys for kids although there was no stroller as stated on the listing - we didn't bring ours expecting one to be there. Awesome location to the shop, pub and beach, and owners very prompt with replying. No wifi here so use your hotspot!

Perfect beach house for relaxing family getaway
We loved Paringa! The house is modern and well equipped but also felt super homely. Our kids loved the toys and books and the adults enjoyed sitting on the balcony and on the comfy recliners next to the kitchen table enjoying the views. We were fortunate enough to see a Koala climb the tree right next to the house! The walk to the beach, pub and cafe is short and easy, we didn’t even need to watch tv, use wifi or move our car the entire stay. It was the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy some slower living. We did have to carry our dog up and down the stairs but we knew about that beforehand and the owners were super proactive with their communication on the matter when booking. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Perfect location
We spent 3 nights in this cosy house, and really enjoyed it. Everything you need to self cater is there. We actually enjoyed not having WiFi but for some people that might be worth noting. Beautiful views, so many birds and the sound of the waves. Our kids loved the house too. Our only negative comment is that it is listed as pet friendly however our dog could not get up and down the stairs which are the only access and quite high as the house is on stilts. They are spaced metal grates so for dogs, there’s no depth perception plus her paws slipped through the spaces. We ended up taking her to a friends place as she just couldn’t stay there. If you can carry your dog maybe that’s not an issue, ours is a 30kg greyhound so not an option!
