Eclipse get away
The perfect weekend get away. The home is beautiful, cozy and clean. The host was super thoughtful and left personal touches related to our stay during the 2024 exlipse, including glases to watch the eclipse with. We spent our weekend hanging out on the dock fishing, watching the array of ducks, herons and swans swim in the inlet and enjoying a lakeside fire in the evening. The neighbors were incredibly friendly as well. Also a big perk, the home is centrally located to numerous great beaches and family destinations. Looking forward to our next stay here again!!

Family Vacation
We had such an incredible stay at Janelle's cottage. It is the perfect setting for a true family vacation. Port Bay is lovely and there is something for everyone. The Pontoon rental is fun convenient. The host coordinated and communicated everything perfectly. We have spent two summers here, and we will definitely be back again!

House on Port bay in Wolcott
House was very cute, and clean. BUT the furniture was not functional - i.e. the mattresses were worn out and terribly uncomfortable. The couch was a small wooden couch with hard uncomfortable cushions. The Large blue sofa wasnt in the house, it was in the basement game room. There was no place to sit together. There was sleep accommodations for 8, but only 4 plastic seats outside, and only 4 chairs in the dining room. I did not expect "new/fashionable" but I DO expect to have a comfortable couch and mattress. There were no fans available, and the rooms were stuffy. There was also no toilet paper stocked, which was a huge inconvenience, requiring a early morning store run. All in all, vacation should equal some comfort. Please get some better mattresses and comfortable furniture. And enough chairs for all people who come to stay.

Quiet and lovely get away
We loved being so close to the lake. We took full advantage of the pontoon boat and at least two of us were on the dock from sunrise to sunset fishing. We loved some of the close mom and pop type establishments too. Our stay was comfy and simple, felt country-like for us 'burb folk...no problems and perfect location for a few days to relax and unwind. Thank you, Janelle!

Nice family vacation
Janelle was fantastic with communication and being receptive. It was a very nice family vacation. It was comfortable and met our needs quite well. The pontoon boat rental was a necessary add-on for enjoyable trips around the bay.

Nice roomy home
Very nice property. Would have enjoyed swimming but it was definitely murky water. The house was very comfy for us and children and had fun fishing and paddle boarding.

A nice getaway, yet close enough to home.
We had an enjoyable experience at the cottage. A few family members had other obligations during the week at home, therefore, the location was extremely convenient for travel. The kids enjoyed the game room. The cottage was fully equipped with all essentials. We rented the pontoon boat for our stay and really enjoyed the tubing and leisurely rides.

Amazing!
My family and I rented this house for our annual trip. There was 7 of us and it was awesome! The house was perfect for us. The beds were comfortable! The house had everything we could need. We rented the boat as well and had a blast puttering around the bay. There was a golf course right down the road! The owners were great at communicating with anything we needed! I would recommend this house to anyone. 10 out of 10.

Wonderful spot to relax!
We slowed down and enjoyed lake life. It was just what we needed! The view over the water was beautiful and there are lots of fun things to do in the area. Our 3 year old had a blast!

Another great vacation in the books!
Every year my husband and I take the kids on a new vacation to a lake in New York and this year we landed in Wolcott. This cottage/location hit the spot. We rented the pontoon boat directly from the owner and it made our vacation that much more enjoyable. Being out on the bay was just incredible. We were able to do some fishing, sightseeing of the area, take beautiful photos of the wildlife and get some much needed relaxation. The cottage was very clean, with plenty of room for the 4 of us. The owner (Janelle) was very friendly and responsive. And the neighborhood was very quiet. Now this is a spot we will be returning to!!

Relaxing by the bay
We had a great time at the cottage! It’s very well stocked with everything you need and a few extra surprises like games for the kids! We loved our time on the beautiful pontoon and brought our kayaks for more time on the water! The owners were wonderful too and always responded quickly to all our questions. Wonderful Getaway!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this property and especially loved that it was right on the bay. We rented the pontoon boat, and it was absolutely worth it! We spent hours boating, tubing, fishing and swimming off of it. The owner was very communicative and helpful and responded promptly to all of our questions. We definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing getaway.

Friends and Family Getaway
Another wonderful stay at this lake house. This was our second visit and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves again. We rented their pontoon again and had the best time out on the lake. They provided firewood and a grill. The house was fully furnished and the price included linens and all the kitchen necessities. We love this place and can't wait to visit again.

Relaxing experience
A very nice place to go and relax. Friendly people live around the property, we had some help from one of them on our first night because we were not sure of the place but we were able to find it. I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to find a relax place to go. A note: If you are coming from a big city (like I did) don’t be afraid of the lack of lights on the street at night. There are a lot of corn farms around the property, but it is a very friendly and relaxing place to go.

Summer Sun & Swimming!
We had an excellent week on the bay. The house was clean and cute. We had enough room for the 7 of us (including two small children). The three season room downstairs was a great place for the kids to watch TV or play foosball. Everyone around us was very friendly. There was plenty of wood for campfires and the grill was a big plus. There is a new gas stove that was fabulous to cook on. The pantry had some staples and we were able to get to the TOPS with a 25ish minute drive. The WiFi was nice for those of us that still needed to have virtual meetings throughout the week. We fished off the dock and the pontoon boat. We rented the boat for the week through the hosts. In my opinion, it was a must! The dock is great to fish off of, however the seaweed does hinder swimming. We brought along our kayaks and paddleboards, which we used in the bay and had an excellent time swimming and fishing with those. We took the boat out into the bay most of the days and were able to head over near the lake, dock in the bay, and go look for beautiful stones on the lake shore. While we were there we had some unforeseen plumbing issues. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating in getting everything fixed. The hosts were extremely responsive and answered questions quickly throughout the whole process. I would recommend this property for a relaxing time with friends and family!

Loved the cottage
We are a family of 5 adults and really enjoyed our long weekend stay. Everything is just how it’s described in the listing. The cottage was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The owner, Janelle was very responsive to all messages and great to work with. We enjoyed renting a pontoon boat on Sodus Bay at their boat shop. We hiked at Chimney Bluffs and went to a local winery and brewery. We even caught a few fish off the dock! Overall a really fun time was had by all!

Every aspect of the rental process was awesome. The owners were responsive, helpful, and fun. The property is in a good location though the surrounding town is super small. Great for fishing, boating and relaxing. The house has huge potenpotential and clearly they are working on it, but it does need updating and deep cleaning.

We had a great time at this cottage. The location was central to a lot of attractions/restaurants. The dock and fire pit were fantastic and where we spent most of our time. Enough space that our two families could spread out and not feel cramped. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful cottage!
We had the best time at this cottage! The owners were so helpful with all of our questions and really on top of everything. The house was perfect for our family, it was super clean and located in a quiet neighborhood. We chose to rent the boat as well and we couldn't be happier with that decision! The kids were thrilled that it was already there at the dock when we arrived, so we went right out on the water. The small details made such a difference to us...we loved the wireless speaker that we took out on the boat, the fire pit and chairs (with more than enough firewood), the wall hooks in each room for our towels and clothes, the great air conditioning...just a few things that made our stay great! We will be back to stay again-thank you!

Great lake house and great hosts. The house was perfect for our group and had all the amenities you could ask for. You can also rent the pontoon for a day(s) on the water which I highly recommend. We loved this cottage! It is located right on the bay. You can not swim from the dock as there is a ton of seaweed but we rented the owner's pontoon and went out to the middle of the bay and anchored. Swam and floated in the water all weekend! Janelle (owner) was very attentive and responded quickly to all our questions. They also provided firewood for bonfires. The newly renovated sunroom off the back of the house was perfect! Has a flat screen tv, patio furniture, electric fireplace, and foosball table. We loved this place and would highly recommend!
