"Marga is an excellent host, and we enjoyed our stay! The VRBO is very clean, spacious, and stocked. With 10 family members (2 children), the private baths were appreciated! The quiet setting was always welcome after our days adventures. Public bus transportation is by the property. The washing machine availability is great (takes a long time to run a load). There’s a nice local farm stand across the road! Il Falco in Montfort is delicious for take-out! Oudewater is a lovely town w/ a delicious bakery and Stads Cafe.Things to know: car and bike rental are recommended, arrange bikes in advance with Marga. The bus schedule is every 30 minutes, if on time, so time evaporates quickly ( we did not have either, and it was VERY inconvenient). Bring Euros as credit cards are not accepted for take-out and other establishments. There are 3 terrier dogs who often run out barking when walking from the bus stop to VRBO. They were not aggressive, however, our grandson was scared to walk. The house sits among animal barns, hay storage, and a cement wall flanks one side of the VRBO, you will pass through daily to access VRBO. Two bedrooms face this wall which was not expected or visible from pictures. There is not a clothing dryer, rather drying racks which was challenging as some family packed light. The listing pictures appear as though cows graze in a field by the house, not accurate. Shampoo and conditioner are not provided."

"This hotel is special, great staff, nice modern rooms and bathrooms, superb restaurant and bar. We stayed for six nights, was meant to be seven but staff were okay with the shortened stay, helpful in amending the booking and a room refund. Free parking was a bonus. Having an in-house bar and restaurant meant you could easily access great coffee, drinks and excellent classy meals. We come to the Netherlands regularly and would be back here in a heartbeat."

"Eine sehr saubere und gemütliche Unterkunft. Die Lage ist perfekt, um ein paar ruhige Tage zu verbringen. Ein besonderes Highlight ist das große Fenster im Wohnbereich, das das Beobachten von Hasen, Kühen etc. ermöglicht. Die Kommunikation mit den Gastgebern verlief reibungslos. Jeder Zeit wieder!"

"I was looking for a practical hotel to stay both for work as well to start cycling along the Rhine; Hotel Montfoort is picturesquely located in the historical Montfoort village, on walking distance of the beautiful castle. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, and the accommodation supplies everything you need for a pleasant stay and a good night’s sleep. Highly recommended."
