Both ski and mountain bike rentals are available in town and the Methow Community Trail starts right in town. Don’t forget the ice skating rink and Methow Rafting

Winthrop is a fantastic hub for all the activities and adventures the Methow Valley has to offer, it's a short drive to all the Methow Trails' trailheads at Sun Mountain, Cub Creek and Mazama for winter cross country skiing and summer mountain biking or hiking.

Further afield it's a 30 minute drive to Washington Pass in the North Cascades National Park, and another five minutes from there to Blue Lake trailhead. Loup Loup ski hill is around 35 minutes in the other direction. Pearrygin Lake State Park is less than a 5 minute drive from the home; for fishing, water-sports, sno-park and fat biking trails.

Winthrop’s annual calendar of events includes the Rhythm and Blues Festival, Vintage Car Rally, Memorial Day Rodeo, and Christmas At The End Of The Road (check the town’s website for details).

Getting Around:
Getting here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over highway 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I-90, Snoqualmie Pass and Bluett Pass, or highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Combine these routes and you have the scenic Cascade Loop. Nearest major airport is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (247.0 miles).

Getting Around: it’s a 5 minute walk to downtown Winthrop’s boardwalk (around 6 minutes to Three Fingered Jack's Saloon). Mazama is 20 minutes drive north on 20. The artsy little town of Twisp and the Confluence Gallery & Art Center is 15 minutes south on 20. Trango operates a local bus service throughout the area, and Methow Motion provides a private car service.

Excellent space and location
We had a wonderful stay. The property suited us so well with 2 families with kids and grandma all staying together for a family member's wedding. Well stocked home had all the amenities we could wish for plus a great, walkable location to town. We would have loved to use the fire pit in back had it not been for thunder storms. Enjoyed the patio for coffee once the sun came out prior to our departure. Thanks for an excellent stay and helping us make great family memories. We would definitely stay again.
