Although this is an old hotel, everything was excellent. It is in the most central location, a short walk from the train station, on the main square in town and in addition, the food is good and the staff is friendly.

Lovely hotel with exceptional great staff. We had the deluxe room which was spaceous and comfortable. It is right in the center of Winterswijk with a great terrace to sit and enjoy breakfast, lunch or diner.

The property is 350 years old and it shows, however bathrooms are up to date, the location is "the best", the staff is friendly and the food is excellent. The wine list is amazingly good and affordable. It is a 10 minute walk from the train station; taxi's are hard to come by.

Old World Charm!

I don't know what I liked more -- having the cozy restaurant w excellent food and drink on the ground floor; or our hotel rooms, each decorated uniquely with antiques; or the staff (always helpful and cheerful); or the neighborhood (close to the train station, where you can get a coffee at the Starbucks that opens at 5 AM if you wake up too early for the Stad Munster's restaurant.

Hidden gem in eastern Holland

The team at Stad Munster have a great blend of professional, yet warm and helpful. I've stayed at this hotel over the last 25 years and the recent owners are a family who take pride in this small hotel. The location is perfect, the prices are really fair, and the restaurant is quite nice. I got the biggest and best breakfast, ever!

Für einen Kurztrip total OK.

Die Lage des Hotels ist top. Da gibt es nichts zu meckern. Hinter dem Haus fiel schon beim Parken eine gewisse Unordnung auf. Im Eingangsbereich roch es extrem nach Frittiertem. Allerdings nicht sonderlich lecker. Der Mitarbeiter war aber sehr freundlich. Auf dem Weg zum Zimmer im ersten Stock müffelte der Flur dann nach Abfluss und Klostein. Im Zimmer war dann die Luft allerdings "rein". Zimmerausstattung war OK. Kein Kleiderschrank. Den brauche ich aber für eine Nacht nicht. Die Duschstange hing nur noch am seidenen Faden. Frühstück war trotz Aufbackbrötchen sehr gut.

Bij de freule Van Dort in Steengroeve theater

Altijd fijn om hier te logeren als onderdeel van het Steengroeve theater weekend. Een gemoedelijk familiehotel in het hartje van de stad. Dit keer sliep ik in een zeer mooie, ruime kamer. Lekker ontbijt. Na afloop van de voorstelling was terras nog open.

Hotel ligt centraal op loopafstand van winkels en restaurants pluspunt. Minpunten: De kamer die we hadden was heel donker en er hing een bedompte lucht. Personeel niet erg behulpzaam of gastvrij, ontbijt echt geen 14 euro waard. Kortom; ik zou een ander hotel in Winterswijk kiezen, keuze genoeg!

Location - Stay here when in Winterswijk!

What more could you ask for, a hotel with historical character right on the square. Updated rooms keep the uniqueness of the hotel as does the library/business meeting room with fireplace. The bar, breakfast and dinner areas are all nice and and allow a quiet conversation.
