Hidden little Gem
Property was perfect for 2 family's of 4, kids loved the bunk room.Smaller lake but was nice cruising on our pontoon. Would definitely stay at this place again

Beautiful view of the lake
Easy check in. Everything you could ask for! Beautiful cozy cabin. Our family enjoyed the large deck, looking over the lake. We all used the kayaks, canoes, paddle boards. A well made dock right in front of cabin where we docked our boat during the time we stayed there. We caught pike and bass on the boat but nothing off the dock. It was fine though we enjoyed playing in the water with such a awesome selection of water toys. Thank you Kimberly for our family to make such fun memories at your cozy cabin.

Up North Getaway!
This cabin has it all, every thing you need in the kitchen, plus paddle boards, paddle boat, and canoe. Fishing off the dock and a happy doggo who couldn't swim enough. Our crew spent most of the week at the golf course directly across the lake, you should have seen the look on the their faces when they realized the course was right there! LOL. Thanks for a wonderful adventure!

Perfect Lake Cabin Getaway
We had an amazing time at Kimberly's lake house! It was absolutely perfect. The view was spectacular, sunsets just wonderful. Kimberley went above and beyond to call me as we were headed there because of a mix up we'd had about check in. She has a plethora of small lake water crafts, and my 9 and 12 year old girls adored paddling around in kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. The lake was small enough I wasn't worried about them getting run over being out there on their own. It was my perfect idea of a cabin - not a pristine house, but a place that while totally clean, has been used and loved, so we could bring our dog to play along side us without being worried a bit of dirt would forfeit our deposit. We definitely want to go back again!

Another Glorious Stay at Barker Lake
My husband and I just spent 2 months at Kimberly's cabin and have already booked another 2 months for 2023. We had stayed here for a month in 2021 and knew we had to return for a longer time this year. We live in Florida and have been coming to the Hayward area every year since 2016 and Kimberly's cabin has been our best lake cabin ever. The cabin is spacious, clean, has flat land to the lake and dock, and was very comfortable. We ate many of our meals out and there are many wonderful restaurants in the Hayward and Winter areas for breakfast through dinner. The casino is only 25 minutes away. Kimberly is a fantastic host and was always available when needed, which wasn't often at all. We highly recommend this Barker Lake cabin!

Mid Week Get Away
We booked this lovely lakeside property because it's close to the camp where our daughter is working this summer. It exceeded all our expectations! It's a beautiful, comfortable house, with all the basics and much more provided. The deck outside the kitchen has a beautiful lake view and is a perfect place for morning coffee and sunset dinners. The long dock takes you right out into the lake, and the canoes and kayaks that are available let you explore Barker Lake in a leisurely way. We had a lovely 3 days.

Relaxing Girls Trip
This was our annual girls trip and we love this cabin so much that we only left once to go to Hayward for a few hours. We spent hours in the water trying out all the water toys! We paddled around almost the whole lake a few times! It was quiet, peaceful and perfect get away from the crazy busy city. The sunsets and views and were spectacular. The bugs chased us in at night but there were a chest of games and we enjoyed reading while looking at the lake! The kitchen is fully stocked. Kimberly was an amazing host- and very responsive. Would stay again for sure.

Loved, Loved Kimberly's Cabin
We are a retired couple who live in Florida and visit the Hayward area every Fall for a month. The Barker Lake cabin was without a doubt the best vacation in the area ever! We loved it so much we have rented it for two months in 2022. The property was as described and very spacious, clean, and comfortable. We appreciated the flat lawn to the lake and had fires most every night. My husband caught fish from the dock! We discovered great new restaurants in/near Winter, otherwise we ate at our favorites in/closer to Hayward. Being on vacation means little or no cooking even though the cabin's kitchen was well stocked with dishes, flatware, and cookware. The WiFi and Internet connections were wonderful without any interruptions. Kimberly has the cabin filled with items to pass the time and for outside lots of different types of water craft, bicycles, and golf clubs. Barker Lake was quiet and we loved watching the leaves turn color across the lake. Kimberly was easy to reach when necessary and was a wonderful host. We can't wait to return in 2022!

Great cabin fit our needs well!
Great cabin for large family or group! Lots of room, great deck and backyard! Interior is older, rustic and a bit nostalgic. The cabin had everything we needed. Most of the lake is pretty shallow but great for kayaking. Just minutes from the Chippewa flowage where we were fishing.

Most relaxing vacation with all the amenities
Everything one needs is there. Lots of boats, life jackets were in great shape. Everything one needs in the house is there. Beds were very comfortable for all 3 of us. Tv in front we couldn't get to work directions were not updates but the little time we did watch TV we watched in other room. House could be updated but otherwise perfect. Saw 2 resident eagles everyday, otters, family of loon and many hummingbirds. I bought with me a feeder with me. Got up for many sunsets. Great stay!!!!

Cozy, relaxing lake home on quiet lake!
Clean and cozy lake rental with cabin feel, well designed to enjoy views of small private-feeling lake. Kitchen and living area are lake-side and spacious, allowing comfortable movement through the quarters. Garage space thoughtfully redesigned to be a living room/sleeping area and is great for kids. Back two bedrooms are dark, quiet and comfortable. The one bathroom with shower/tub was more than sufficient for our family of 5 during 3 day weekend. Well kept and flat front yard is perfect for a chair, fire or bag-toss. Lake is small and shallow, but picturesque. Lake is not particularly well suited for skiing or tubing, but perfect for kayak or paddle board. Fishing is slow on this lake, but does offer size-able crappies if you can find them. Wonderful getaway, would certainly recommend and return!

Wonderful family getaway.
It was a lovely setting - peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed watching the sunsets, the wildlife and the scenery. The cottage was clean, well stocked and extremely comfortable and homey. The host was attentive, friendly and easy to contact. We would definitely recommend a visit!

Great Northwoods cabin/lake getaway
My wife and I had a great stay with our 10 week old son and two dogs. The lake is beautiful and the fishing off the dock was good. Plenty of largemouth bass. The cabin was cozy and had all the amenities we needed. Kimberly was a great and responsive host. I would recommend for a Northwoods cabin getaway.

Kimberly’s home was perfect for my family for an escape to the north woods. The home was comfortable and welcoming. We loved the deck on the home. Cozy cabin!
Cabin was great! Spent labor day weekend here and loved the area. The lake was nice and quiet and we had decent fishing right off the dock. It was a little chilly for us to utilize the kayaks and paddle boards but there is plenty of them available to use. Would definitely rent again and would recommend it to anyone!!

Roomy Cabin with a great view
This is a cabin decorated with up north charm and loads of room to stretch out in! The kitchen is superbly stocked with all the cookware and utensils needed to prepare a feast. Kimberly is a delight to talk to and helps out properly with any concerns or questions. We really enjoyed our stay !

We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation at Kimberly's lake home. Quiet location. Great lake view. Our Aussie learned to jump off the dock and the water was clear, though dark from iron or tannin, and the bottom is easy to walk on. Not mucky!! Plenty of room inside and out to relax. The locals of Winter were all pleasant. We plan on returning!! Thank you Kimberly

Everything you may need
Some might call it a bit cluttered, but if you need anything for your stay, it is likely at this lake house, so you will come to appreciate all the stuff. Our group was there to float various nearby rivers for bass. Plenty of canoes and kayaks to choose from. 4 bicycles for our shuttles, rope, bungees, single or double bladed paddles, tie downs, life jackets, coolers, trolling motor, floaties, chairs, etc. Everything worked, and dock was nice. Someone put alot of work into cleaning the shallow lakefront of pencil reeds so that there would be a nice hard bottom sandy area to wade into the water.

Our first time with a VRBO rental. Kimberly has thought of EVERYTHING you would need. Canoes, kayaks & paddleboard were a huge hit with my family on a quiet lake. I personally loved having early morning coffee on the pier!

Heavenly Haven!
Wonderful experience for our family! So many things to do on the lake, paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, paddle boat. Bicycles to ride and a fire pit by the lake, a golf course just down the road...we had everything we needed and then some! We made memories as a family that will last a lifetime especially for the grandkids, none of them wanted to leave!

This is a simple home that will allow for a relaxing or active week. The owner is responsive to any questions or issues. We had a couple of issues surface that had to be dealt with, and Kimberly helped us right away. We liked having the different floatation devices to use. There isn't a great area to put in at the dock, but we made it work. We saw the eagles and their nest and lots of other wildlife. You are in the north woods, so you do need bug spray. The firepit by the shore was very peaceful. The main bedrooms have double beds. The kitchen has just about anything you will need. The owner cares greatly that you have a good experience. She is making upgrades as necessary. Side trips are plentiful if you want to go somewhere. Check out the area visitor centers for the best info. Just being lakeside is great, too.

Stayed 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend. Had a great time. House and furnishing are older, but suited our needs. Nice to have outside toys (kayaks, etc), but as you would expect, they are nothing fancy. Important to know that this is part of the flowage and the water levels can really be affected accordingly.

Beautiful View Of Lake Barker.
Had a nice relaxing stay on the lake. The house was nice and clean. WiFi and cable were a big plus on rainy days. The fishing was good. Caught Perch and blugill mainly. One bass and a red tail sucker which I threw back.Kayak and canoe and other boats there if you wish to take an adventure on the lake. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook a meal. We had a wonderful time.

Great Birkie Basecamp
Our group really enjoyed staying on Barker Lake. It had plenty of space for us to relax when we weren't out skiing. The kitchen is a great size and worked well to cook up big meals. Kimberly was a gracious and accommodating host. Everyone was comfortable sleeping and the bunkhouse worked out really well for us. Hope to make it back that way soon.

Really enjoyed the stay. The cabin was clean and loved how close to the water it is. Having campfire wood provided was really nice as there is a great spot for campfires right next to the water.

This property is beautiful. The layout is perfect for a couple families to enjoy the magic of the north! The owner really cares about the people who stay here, and it shows! From the sweet dock that makes kayak launches simple, to the board games stashed away in the toy chest; this place is great! We will be back.

We had a great time and really enjoyed having the nice dock to keep our boat at.
This place worked out great for the week we were there.We choose this place because we were able to bring our two dogs there and they had a blast.We had all kinds of room to spread out and relax .There was plenty of things to do and were able to go fishing and tubing behind our boat.

We had a fun time here. Everything was neat and clean. Fishing off the dock provided quite a few panfish and several bass. The house is very close to the water - which was very relaxing. The kids swam off the dock and loved all of the water toys that were available (especially the paddle board). Kimberly was great help in making sure we had what we needed. We spent one of the days in Hayward, which was 30 mins away. Lots of fun! Would recommend to families, especially large families as there is a lot of room for sleeping 12+.

Fantastic long weekend family up north getaway!
Kimberly was very accommodating and quick to respond with questions etc. The home was as described and better in some ways. The lake was beautiful and all the lake toys kept us busy and having a fantastic time. It was a must to take our 2 yellow labs with us on this trip so they could enjoy the lake with us, and it was not any problem with Kimberly to accommodate them as well. Everything was very comfortable and clean and the kitchen was more than we expected and great as we cooked all meals on the trip. A stone firepit by the lake was a great way to end our day. Awesome stay. Thanks again!
