"Difficult to find in the dark
Beds uncomfortable with small rooms, nowhere to open a case
No instructions for boiler or hot water. When we did work out the boiler, only 2 of us had a shower because the water was too hot and dangerous, we couldn’t get it any colder the temperature control in the shower did nothing.
The bathroom was musty and grimy and like a caravan size pod. "

"Beautiful and relaxing stay at Montigo Resorts over Easter. The staff were friendly and helpful, the property and the grounds are beautiful. The spa was really special, not busy and a real treat. Breakfast was plentiful and not too busy. We'd definitely come back!"
"The property is in the middle of town so very convenient for a look around the following day. There was plenty of room for the 3 of us in the room (69 year olds). The beds were comfy and clean as was the bathroom. The decor was a little sad in the rooms but the comfort and price more than met expectations.
My biggest concern was that we were put in the 2nd floor, with no lift and I have big mobility problems and struggled to get up and down the stairs. When asked if there was a similar room on the bottom floor I was told it was for two adults and a child only. I feel this is discriminating against disabled people (pensioners) who may not want a single room. And the risks of vacating the hotel in case of a fire would be a huge problem.
To finish on a high note, the breakfast was very good, and we went back for a drink at lunch time and the food looked amazing but we were too full to eat after the size of the breakfast. "
"Nice to have a late check in option. The 10pm cut off came in really handy for me. Lovely cooked and cold breakfast options. Room was great, bottle of water were a lovely touch. I wasn’t expecting housekeeping on day one of a two day stay, I didn’t need anything but nice to have the option. Lovely place and people thank you "
"We stayed for 1 night in a premium room. First the best point, the bed was just perfect for us, 6ft wide and super comfy. However, overall the room had a number of annoying niggles: regarding safety and security, the room door wouldn’t close properly without significant effort and noise - not good at any time but particularly inconvenient late at night, the bath had no grab handles to make it safe to enter and exit the bath and using the bath was made more risky by the bath mat being too small - if you had it at the back of the bath to aid entry and exit it was not close enough to the shower head when you were showering and vice-versa. Additionally, the bath surround was particularly worn, the sofa was too grubby to use and there was a broken towel hook on the back of the bathroom door. I can’t help feeling that some of these things could be easily fixed and at moderate cost and that if addressed the overall offering would be significantly enhanced. A shame really as it’s a lovely place and well located for numerous local visits and trips. Maybe we were just unlucky on the room."
"We were very happy with our stay, chose this hotel because of it's location, easy walk into Shaftesbury and gold hill, and next day to stourhead national trust. The room was very clean and everything worked ok but the room decor reflected the 3 star rating, but the bar and dinning areas were more like 4/5 star and also the food and service one of the best Sunday carveries ever, would return just for that, and then to top that the full English breakfast wow, that was definitely 5 star, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel has a large car park area which is shared by day visitors for restaurant and swimming pool which is free to guests, although the building looks a little tired we would use again because of the price, The only suggestion I would make is to separate the guests parking area from visitors . "
"Lovely room, very affordable but also felt high end. Really enjoyed breakfast and appreciated the free parking. Very easy to get into the centre, we walked but not ideal if limited mobility as it is hilly, but I believe there is a regular bus service. Only things to note is the walls are quite thin so pack ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper, also it is not a serviced front desk, I did not receive an email for the code to the front door for some reason.
