Wonderful host that is accommodating, communicative and helpful. Even looking out for us in case of bad weather. Cannot say enough good things about the stay. The actual amenities exceeded our expectations and was the perfect getaway.
This was a great little getaway. It is in an ideal location where you can really explore in any direction! The sauna and hot tub were a nice addition and everything was as expected from the listing.
Nice separation of bedroom space for everyone. Plenty of room to spread out. Lovely outdoor space. Love the trail through the woods right from the back deck!
My family and I have not been on a trip together in over 15 years. We could not have hoped for a more perfect stay. The home is beautiful, clean, and had everything we could possibly need. Not to mention it is set in a beautiful location and very close to Traverse City. My family is already talking about making this an annual trip!
We loved staying here! Very spacious, beautiful, and pet friendly with lots of yard space for the pets to run. If you want to make full use of the trails don’t come during hunting season. But it was an amazing place to spend Thanksgiving with our family - the hosts were very welcoming and we would definitely come back. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful lodge!!
We had a fantastic stay at North Pines Lodge. The location is amazing. The privacy and wooded views are incredible and the hiking trails right outside were a favorite. The lodge was clean and cozy and every space finished thoughtfully so that it’s functional. The activity/food/places to visit suggestion binder from the host was helpful, and the coffee and wine upon arrival was a nice surprise! Thank you for making our family getaway a memory we won’t forget!
The property was as advertised! Very nice log home with great amenities and very clean. Great location, just 10 minutes from Elk Rapids, 20 from Traverse City and 2 miles from the casino.
Kwin reached out several times to make sure everything was as it should be which was great! We loved being able to bring our dog with us and plenty of land for her to play.
Great property and gorgeous views with the snow’. Thank you for the excellent stay!
Everything about this property is beautiful. We came up for a weekend to enjoy nature, have a good time with friends, and unwind. It blew our expectations out of the water. We had 8 of us staying and there was more than enough space for us all. It was the perfect distance from town to still do things but also we were able to “hunker down” and be outside. it was like camping without the hassle of a tent! We can’t wait for our next time.
Our family truly enjoyed our stay. Ranging in ages from 9-75, every member of the family was happy with this space (including our dog). Everyone had their own space and there were plenty of options it all be together. We enjoyed the trails, the fire pit, the lovely porch, and the hot tub. Nicely situated between Traverse city and Elk Rapids, we felt like we were close to so many things. The home is so nicely laid out, well appointed, and you can tell that a lot of thought and care goes into this property and the experience of guests (there was even a bottle of local wine and bag of coffee waiting for us)! We will keep this option on our list for years to come! Thank you Kwin and Megan!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Northern Pines. The home is beautiful, well kept, and well stocked. The hosts seem to have thought of everything that makes the stay enjoyable. Check in was easy and contactless. We took advantage of the hot tub, fire pit, and many trails all around the property. The ambiance was on point. I would highly recommend the house, the location, and the hosts. They are not kidding about the steep driveway. A normal winter would definitely require 4 wheel or all wheel drive. The host does keep it plowed out and does their best to make sure you can get in and out though. Great escape! We used it to get together with our family and all had a great time!
We rented the Northern Pines to celebrate our friends 50th birthday. The location was perfect for 6 ladies, very close to Turtle Creek Casino (where we were able to catch a wine tour shuttle through beer and wine tours out of Traverse City).
The house was well equipped and had everything we needed! The hot tub was great, though fits only 2-3 people at most. We enjoyed the fire pit and beautiful landscaping, spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the yard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!
There is a cool beach nearby by, Maple Bay park. We were lucky to have a quick dip in the bay in late September! Right down the road was a fantastic fruit pie stand that we took advantage of. I recommend this place for a group that likes to hang out and enjoy the house rather than spending the trip in TC, it’s very quiet and peaceful. Kudos to the owners on giving it a true up north feel ! ❤️
We had a great time at Northern Pines. At various places we have visited, always my wife gets up early and sits outside to watch the sun rise. Here is what she has to say about our stay here..."Early in the morning watching the sunrise was majestic. So quiet and so calm... the house was surrounded by forest and really beautiful! We went to three places up north last year and this is the most peaceful and restful place yet." So I think so far this was her favorite, though we did like them all. The trails out back were nice to walk on. Though it was late February, the first day there was 70 degrees and we had a nice walk that took us to an apple orchard. It felt like spring. The next day it snowed which was great because that's what we wanted anyways for Feb. The hosts Kwin and Megan were responsive and good hosts, and we really appreciate how they took care of us. I think we will return someday.
Such an amazing stay! We traveled with our infant, parents and two dogs. The property was very private and had trail heads basically off the back deck for the dogs, they loved it. The place is super well maintained and clean. Would love to visit again when we can stay logner!
The cabin offered great views and privacy, and yet is close to town. It offered us a very relaxed place to hang out when we were down with our day trips around the area.
5 stars all the way around. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property, and are looking forward to visiting again. Can’t recommend this place enough!
We book a cabin every year, somewhere new each time. This cabin was beautiful, very clean and the kitchen fully stocked with everything you could need. The views were beautiful and we truly enjoyed our stayed.
We loved staying here! Our only complaint would be that no bathroom on the “bunk” level means kids coming upstairs at night which can be a little inconvenient but other than that it’s perfection!
