Gorgeous
Absolutely beautiful property, thoughtfully renovated and right on the river. Great communication from the hosts. The breakfast and local treats were a really nice touch. We'll definitely be back again.

We had a great time. I We had all the essentials and even found some special items waiting for us in the fridge. It was a great spot to relax and unwind. We even had kayaks delivered to our door.

Ah the serenity
Beautiful little cottage on the river. Very peaceful location to relax with views of the river. Well stocked kitchen, great shower. Bed was a bit soft for our liking.

Had a great time whether you want to relax,explore,fish,kayak or just de-stress this is the place secluded but still . within easy reach of Adelaide. It was the thoughtfull touches like bacon and eggs,and wine left by the owners that made it such a good experience.

Beautiful old settlers cottage
Gorgeous old cottage which has been lovingly restored after 2023 floods. Situated on the bank of the River Murray, its perfect for kayaking or just enjoying the serenity. I love it and will go back!

Relaxing spot right on the edge of the river, very private Styled beautifully, recently renovated Only downer was in photos there was a bath in bathroom, but in must be old photos as the cottage no longer has a bath. Which would of been very nice as that’s one of the reasons I booked the cottage Apart from that we loved the spot, host was super nice, bacon and eggs in the fridge along with a fresh home made loaf of bread Highly recommend

Peaceful with nature
What a lovely piece of "Australiana." The thick walls and tin roof - and then the river which was the icing on top. Hubby couldn't resist throwing a line into the river - just for fun. At times the river was like glass. Perfection!

Self imposed Silent Retreat
I loved this place. The ease of finding Wigley Retreat was great. The home which was steeped in history was the perfect place to regroup my inner self. I loved the front door tread that has worn down from centuries of people walking in and out. The bed was noted in the guest book many times about how comfortable it was, i emphatically agree. The bed was soft and warm and enveloped when you laid down. I cannot explain how a simple pleasure of this bed gave me such peace. The small touches of warm welcoming by Graham & Elsbeth were noticed and appreciated very much. I highly highly recommend 'Wigley retreat' as a solitude haven for those seeking a chance to reconnect. Thank you Graham & Elsbeth for sharing this gem. Jo

The property was very clean and had all the amenities needed for your stay. The hosts provided those little extra touches which were lovely and a very pleasant surprise. It was very quiet and peaceful. We only wished we could have stayed longer but we will definitely be back.

Hidden Gem
How amazingly peaceful. We could have easily stayed here much longer. The cottage is so lovely and the setting is just perfect. It is certainly a place for relaxing and unwinding, which we did. The bed was very comfortable too. The lovely extra touches were wonderful. If you want privacy, relaxation and getting away from it all, this is the spot for you. Will highly recommend to others. The Radfords are amazing hosts with such lovely details and creature comforts at their wonderful Wigley Retreat. The location is breathtaking and yet private ... but also close to terrific spots such as Riverland Wine Centre ... A weekend was long enough so next time will be a week ... Perfect escape
If peace and quiet is your aim, this property half way between Barmera and Waikerie, is the perfect spot. It is a hidden jewel. No traffic, minimal river craft, no near neighbours and a very well equipped and character laden cottage.

Excellent, very relaxed , clean and private, the hosts very generous with provisions left - freshly baked bread/ olive oil/ dukkah / milk / bacon and eggs assorted jams/ butter . The hammocks over looking the river very relaxing. For anybody wanting to enjoy the river front exclusively just perfect. Also a highlight visits from a well behaved Sophie the farm dog and the local echinda and Graham the host a very friendly chap - will return in the future

Relaxing & comfortable, in a beautiful location. Highly recommended.
We were unsure of check in as we'd had no info from the owners but this turned out to be a non-issue as the cottage was ready & waiting for us when we arrived. The cottage was stocked very generously, with almost everything you could want/need and a very comfortable bed. The only suggestion we have is that the doona was very warm and a lighter blanket would have been handy, as the nights we stayed were not very cold.

What a beautiful, peaceful and tranquil venue. Beautiful old cottage, very comfortable, amazing bath! A great place to see the Riverland from, right on the River. We bought our kayak with us. Fantastic and friendly hosts with beautiful bubbly, freshly baked bread and breakfast provisions and local produce on arrival. If you need some peace and quiet ..... it's perfect.

Perfect Way To start our married life
My now husband and I stayed here for the first 3 nights of our honeymoon. It was so peaceful and tranquil gave us the opportunity to be completely present and celebrate us and our marriage. Just wish the bath was a bit bigger, however we hope to be back in future.
