"Just a home away"

"Staff friendly and helpful. No true amenities. Two small bottles of a "bath/soap" liquid" in bathroom. Windows in both room and bathroom in room had tree leaves, branches coming in side and difficult to shut without moving the branches out of way . Mattresses were in need of updating were lumpy and and very uncomfortable. Outlet for plugging in phone was completely covered by bed and could not move bed in anyway to reach the outlet. A lovely site. The house is old but charming, food and staff outstanding. The history behind the house is very interesting. I would recommend updating maintenance, linens, and mattresses, maintaining the charm of place but giving it a "refresh"."

"We had an enjoyable 5-night stay at the Port Gaverne Hotel. The service was excellent and the food was very good. We enjoyed the variety of offerings at breakfast and the Sunday Roast. This is not "pub food." This is an old hotel and be advised that the rooms are small and up steep stairs, although the staff helped with luggage. We were there during a heat wave and there is no air conditioning, which is typically not needed. The bed was comfortable and the bedding lovely. The location is beautiful and a short walk up the hill to Port Isaac."

"Gorgeous building inside. Upon check in, we requested breakfast (thought it was included in price but it wasn’t). Reception didn’t ask which one of the 3 choices we wanted. Automatically applied the most expensive to our card. WiFi Intermittent signal. Always buffering on TV. Impossible to watch. Breakfast ok. Nothing to write home about. Wasn’t offered sauces when it arrived. Went for a cigarette at 3am but the front door fire exit was locked from inside. I’m 5ft with 2 frozen shoulders. Took over 5 minutes to slide both the stiff horizontal & top bolts so the door would open. Glad there wasn’t a fire! Have reported this to their local council. Fire regulations clearly not the hotels top priority. Only 1 teabag in room on arrival. Couldn’t get radiator to work. Soap in bathroom not wrapped. Clearly used by someone else. £295 for 1 night for our anniversary. Really disappointed. Do not recommend."

"A gem of a find, a quite location,large car park,friendly staff,dog friendly with a large field off the car park, a great inn with a large beer garden, A great selection of beers & the food taken in the bar or garden was very good. After a power cut in the early morning ( no fault of their own) power back on at 9.15am they managed to provide a full English before we checked out. We would make a point of returning again."
