"We spent a month at this beautiful peaceful retreat & it was wonderful. The home is a rustic, unique A-frame situated right on the Rappahannock River. We had the privilege of seeing several bald eagles from the back deck during our stay. It was very comfortable and we felt like we were at home while we were there. We brought our Labrador Retriever who enjoyed his stay as well. Would highly recommend this property to others who are looking for a laid back place to stay complete with tranquility...

A beautiful and restful spot!

"I had a fantastic stay at the cottage in Gloucester. It is very comfortable, nicely decorated, and stocked with everything I needed. The views from the sun room and the back deck are stunning and beautiful. Most importantly, Lisa was a wonderful host. When I had issues with the TV (turned out to be nothing more than dead batteries on the remote needing to be replaced), she came right out to help,which was honestly more than I expected. In addition, we had a brief but strong storm one of the nights I was there (which does happen, of course), and the power to the neighborhood went out for perhaps two hours. Everything I needed was on hand (candles, flashlight, etc.) and she stayed in touch via text with updates until the lights were back on, which made me feel safe and cared for. I used my time at the cottage to rest in between work activities, and to see a bit of the lovely part of the world where the cottage is located. The sun room was a particularly nice spot to relax. The neighborhood was quiet and the cottage felt very private.Highly recommended! I definitely hope to return before too long."

Quiet Getaway

"It was a nice get away for our wedding anniversary. We were able to bring our dogs and use the private strip of beach a couple of cottages away. This was a great quiet trip. The only thing that could have been better is the AC in the cottage. A window unit is provided but with 90 temps it couldn’t keep up."

Walk to Beach: Home w/ Pool Access in White Stone

Great property, hospitable owners

"Due to junior golf travel, we stay at several VRBO locations per year. This was one of the nicest properties we've stayed at. Before we even left our house to travel there, the owners were in contact with us asking if we needed anything and offered advice on where to eat. The check in process was simple. The property was very clean, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, Beds were comfortable, and the A/C worked awesome. It was over 100 degrees when we were there, but the unit was so comfortable. The owners just added a new grill to the patio which heats up quickly and cooked our lamb, filet mignon, and chicken to perfection. The owners were kind enough to allow us to check out late so we could come back and shower after my son's final round of the golf tournament. It completed a great stay and made our 6 hour ride home more comfortable. We highly recommend this property and would stay here again in a heartbeat."

"We had a nice quiet week in this adorable and clean home just relaxing in the pool and spending time in the kayaks. We ventured out for some yummy Mexican food for dinner, ice cream in Reedville, and the nearby cafe to try their cappuccino and breakfasts but otherwise spent a nice family week playing games and swimming. "

"Where do I begin?...This spot is where my daughter & her fiancé wanted to marry. The Rappahannock carries special meaning for them...it's where they began their love story, and where they were engaged. Pop Castle is a warm, beautiful place for an event...only surpassed by the warmth and kindness of it's owners. The home is historic, well-maintained, and so comfortable! No detailsforgotten. Amazing kitchen! Bathrooms immaculate and the most comfy beds! This is truly a place for relaxation and sharing joy with friends & family! It has every amenity for a large gathering...beautiful views and grounds, places to spread out and come together! As Mother of the Bride, I was not as relaxed as I would have liked! But...all the more reason to return with the folks we treasure for another "Rivah" Respite! Many Thanks to Walid & Ginny for opening up your extraordinary home for this unforgettable event for our family. Cheers!!"
