River Bend Cottage
Come and enjoy this cozy hideaway at the heart of the Hardy Dam area.
Whether you're looking to enjoy the great outdoors, take in the sights of the 29+ mile Dragon Trail, spend time with family, or just hide out in some solitude, our cottage has just what you need.
Our cottage is a spacious one-bedroom home, with accommodations to sleep up to 6 people. Additional sleeping arrangements include a queen-sized futon, two single rollaway beds, and a queen-sized air mattress.
Enjoy morning coffee and evening cocktails on the sizeable front porch. In the backyard, you'll find a fire pit and a small supply of firewood for evening campfires.
The River Bend Cottage is located in a friendly neighborhood, quiet at night and lively during the day. Access to the 29+ mile Dragon Trail is a tenth of a mile away, and while you can see the river banks from our home, full access to a day of boating/kayaking on the Muskegon River is about a quarter mile away through Big Bend Campground (daily or seasonal pass is required). If you're bringing a boat, there are several options for you to launch nearby (Big Bend Campground, Brower Park, Hardy Dam County Marina, Sandy Beach, to name a few).
Please note that our cottage is located in a small neighborhood association that provides homeowners with a small greenspace & docks within walking distance, but these amenities are for homeowners only. A park pass ($7/day or $35/year) from Big Bend Campground (10 minute walk) will allow you full access to the river.
In addition to the cottage, you'll also have access to a shed with various outdoor "necessities" like yard games, chairs, etc. For your convenience, if you're bringing bikes, kayaks, etc., you're welcome to store/lock them in the shed.
We live less than 5 minutes away and can be available within a reasonable amount of time, should a situation arise. Please note that we have an office in the detached garage. In the unlikely event that we need to access the office during your stay, we will attempt to notify you beforehand, and we'll be considerate of your space & privacy.
