Whiritoa is amazing
We had planned to use this as a base of operations to travel to various tourist destinations nearby. We ended up staying in Whiritoa nearly two days exploring the wonderful beaches and woodland trails.

Absolutely stunning
This bach is just stunning. It has the best location that we have probably ever stayed at. The estuary is so nice & safe for the kids but the ocean is right there too, for the best sunrises & sunsets ever :-) We can’t wait to come back!

On the river and the beach!
Perfect for our final 4 nights in New Zealand. So nice to have provided kayaks and boogie boards. The beach is sandy and the waves were fun. It's conveniently close to other fun things in the area like donut island, the gold country gorge, and the hidden cove at the headland on the other end of the beach. Could see sunrises from the porch!

Quiet Whiritoa
Had a perfect stay just as imagined. Perfect location to the lagoon, which was awesome for my young girls 4&2. Such a nice nostalgia to the bach with everything you may need. Recommended.

Love this place!
We've been coming here for years but I'm still always impressed by the view- love sitting on the deck looking out to the sea. It is so nice to switch off, listen to the waves and enjoy time with the family here, thanks Margaret for sharing your wonderful bach with us!

The perfect place to begin our holiday
What a beautiful spot! We loved every minute here - the weather was perfect, we had the beach to ourselves and the spot was perfect with an amazing view! It was the perfect place to start our New Zealand holiday at such a relaxing spot! The kids loved kayaking down the lagoon, walking to the blow hole and across to waimama beach! Couldn’t have asked for more
2 of us returned to Whiritoa after many years away for a short relaxing stay and cannot fault this amazing home. It gave us everything we were looking for. The view and location are second to none and it’s brilliantly classic kiwi Bach styling inside made us feel so relaxed and at home. Cosy warm on cold winter nights and the master bedroom window seat was our go too during the day for a relaxing read and to sit and watch the locals and their dogs wander the estuary. So many great memories for us in this amazing settlement and this home was such a wonderful base for us to be for a couple of days. We will be back!

This is a fantastic bach, has everything you need and great communal spaces. The view alone is worth coming for. We loved the area and the fact there weren't really any amenities - perfect way to recharge the batteries and feel properly holidayed. Thank you very much for having us.

Magical Stay
Absolutely Brilliant! This is a magical place to stay and we were lucky to have a couple of cloud and windless nights, where the stars were amazing. Kids had a ball playing on the swings, building beach huts and jumping off the trees into the water. There was lots of water built up in the lagoon and we took the onsite kayaks for a paddle round the bend. Fantastic fishing off the beach and we all enjoyed a snapper dinner on the last night. Great space for all the families to eat together round the table. We have stayed several times over the last 7 years and we were lucky to take first timers (Southlanders) to this special place. Communication with the owner was excellent and able to contact as needed, prior and at the end of the trip. Thank you Margaret. Our family is counting down days until we can visit Whiritoa again!

What a place this was, beautiful scenery with both the river and beach. The hill was absolutely breathtaking. Looks even better than the pictures and the property easily fit 10 adults.

I love this Place
This is our 6th Year staying at this place. We love this spot, its amazing. Our Children spend the whole day in the Water and we can sit up on the Lawn and watch them safely. One of the best spots in the World!

Fabulous family bach
The situation of this bach is fantastic. It would work best for a couple with a large family or with extra kids. Only one double bed/ bedroom. Very well stocked with everything you would need for a holiday.

Little slice of paradise
This is the perfect spot for families with young children. The lagoon is right on your doorstep - perfect for the little ones to have a swim or play on the sand. The bach itself is homely and cosy, nothing fancy, but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Loved all the books, magazines, toys and games. The views are amazing, and it was lovely to fall asleep with the sound of the waves in the background—definitely a place we'd love to return to.

Sheltered and peaceful
We stayed over a wet and wild Easter holiday. The river (turned lagoon) was sheltered and safe for the kids to swim and kayak to their hearts content. Great spot.

Fantastic in all weathers!
Prime real estate for families with young children on the estuary. Safe swimming, beautiful views and ample adventure opportunities for everyone. The bach has everything you could ask for an more. Books for all ages and tastes, ample board games, kayaks, water toys. It is also great for a couples getaway. My husband and I went this weekend. Three days of reading, eating and relaxing. Theres no wifi here, or TV. Such a blessing. I couldnt wile away my time on techology. We slept with the doors on the deck open so we could hear the sound of crashing waves falling asleep. What we enjoyed most was being inside when the extreme wet weather arrived with high winds. From the protection of our castle on the sand, we watched big waves crash and the wind tear through the trees, bending them at will. And I surmised, that I couldnt wait to come back in winter again. Great host who is kind and caring and a really good person

This is a magical spot. Beach views, private, and family friendly. The children could swim and kayak safely in the lagoon and there is lots to explore. Quiet location, a perfect spot to rest and reset.

The best place ever.
There was no TV, play station, it was the first time my grand children played outside, went kayaking, played lots of board games, awesome if we didn't had to leave Sunday they would b still kayaking. It brought our family together. Thanku so much, we will definitely come back in the near future.
