The cleanliness of the room is excellent and the staff are friendly and warm. The location is out of the fray of beach goers and much more relaxed, but if you want to get to the beach it is just minutes from the property.
Relaxing spot with clean updated rooms, beautiful flowers around the grounds, great view of the bay and you can walk to the shops and coffee house, unfortunately the restaurant next door has closed down.
We had a great experience at the Wheeler Marina, clean, well appointed and they provided movies and a selection of breakfast foods the night before. We also found a terrific dinner spot called the “Night Owl!” The rockfish special was amazing.
The room was great with a big private deck and great view of the bay. Very cute and clean. Awesome bed and bedding. Nice kitchenette. Big smart tv. Great shower pressure. It was great we could park right outside the room.
Wheeler on the Bay was an exceptional hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We walk into a warm and comfortable room after a two hour drive from Portland. My son and I complimented the comfort and cleanliness.
This property was more than we expected. Super quaint. Darling grounds. The owner and his wife are very ingratiating. They have an enviable dvd collection and a charming breakfast basket system for fishermen and people hitting the road early. Would stay again in a flash
A surprisingly comfortable stay. Our end unit had a deck overlooking the bay which was a bonus.
However no amenities in this little village, but were close by in another town.
Stayed in mid February, when it was very cold. Didn't get to take advantage of kayak rentals to explore the large Nehalem River estuary right out the back door of the motel. Dining option in Wheeler are minimal, but Manzanita, Cannon Beach and Seaside are close by. So is many fishing opportunities.
I arrived late in the night, the nicest man helped me at the receptionist desk. He explained breakfast and let me know there was movies I could check out if I wanted to. The room was pristine- jacuzzi tub was comfortable and relaxing. So many little touches like chocolates, local candies, teas and coffee, papertowels, shampoos and shower gels and an abundance of crisp clean towels. The tv was of ample size, as quaint as this motel is it is packed full of amenities and clean as can be and the customer service that I experienced was tops. I will be coming back and completely recommend you stay if your gonna go fishing or a romantic night in.
The owners were most helpful and kind. The room was made up for all four of us friends, so we did not have to fuss with the futon, which was nice. The room was small, but we weren't there to play inside! Shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. There was a nice bar area with a coffee pot, microwave and sink outside of the bathroom. The drawers in the bar had plenty of silverware, cups and plates. It was just a great stay! Next time we will add a day just to go kayaking off of their pier!
Was a last minute choice since we were driving and needed a place for the night. It was quiet and clean. was a little odd to have the shower/tub in the middle of the main room. not a fan of that. a bit out dated but very clean. we traveled for 10 days and spent them in 9 different hotels. this was the most expensive and the most dated was def not worth the amount we paid. but a great choice for all the fisherman that we saw in the morning Was not a fan of being lectured about using Expedia from the owner.
