Sunset Spa by the beach
Great spot by the beach. Awesome views and the spa was a nice bonus. Reasonably close to town so a good base for us visiting Whanganui

Lovely views
Three guests (a couple plus one) enjoyed the fantastic views from the deck, the wonderful spa pool, and having a cozy place to read and puzzle over a stormy couple days. The beds are super comfortable! Some minor repairs needed around the house, but all in all, very functional and suited our needs. Communication with the owner was easy when a change to the reservation was needed.

All about the views
Cosy house in suburbs of Whanganui. Elevated beach views which also means lots of wind. The spa was wonderful. To access beach you can walk down the road and and along sheltered path behind beach. Big adventure playground at Castlecliff beach.

Great place in beautiful location.
Great place in excellent location - shame spa didn’t work for first night but worked it out for second. Would love the double bed in the front room so could wake up to sea but these are just quibbles - we enjoyed it. Would book again.

Quality interior...great views overlooking the sea ....and a garage for the car .....nice quite area... short 15 min drive into the city......unfortunately the hot tub was out of action on our stay

Yes apologies about the hot tub. Others have deemed their needs greater than ours and their rights greater than ours by removing essential components such as pump, heater and control panel. Definitely circumstances beyond our control and we are working to replace in the near future as parts availability and serviceman time allow. Thank you for your understanding.

The Dunes
Toilet lights didn't work, the bbq didn't work very well & the oven tray was dirty. However the spa was lovely & we really enjoyed the beautiful views. The beds were super comfortable & the shower was great.

Was stunned by this beautiful view from the lounge. You had everything we needed and everything was easy to use and accessible. Bed was comfortable. Had a bit of trouble with the multi plug on the one-side of the bed. But other than that it was a relaxing stay.

Go for the spa, stay for the view

We absolutely loved staying here. The view to the beach and beyond is stunning. The sunsets from the deck were a delight. The hottub on the deck was awesome and a proper luxury, though we felt the water hadn't been changed in a while. But otherwise the stay was amazing, so quiet, a beautiful area and extremely relaxing.

My husband and I stayed in this fabulous house for three nights in February. It is gorgeous inside and out, with comfortable furnishings and beautifully landscaped gardens.. We especially enjoyed spending time on the deck overlooking the ocean after a day of sightseeing in the area. It's a ten minute drive into Whanganui. We highly recommend this roerty.

We really enjoyed our stay at the The Dunes. Wonderful ocean views, a lovely house that covered all our needs. The spa pool on the deck was just the finishing touch. Just Magic. Whanganui city centre is just a 10-15 minute drive away. I would rebook this in a heartbeat. Thank you for sharing.

We had a great family time! Right near the beach with a beautiful view but also close to town and attractions. The house was wonderfully clean and comfortable and the spa on the deck is a definite bonus! Exceeded expectations and definitely recommend.

View is spectacular and house very comfortable. Would definitely return. Just a few niggles. Front door very difficult to open and close with key. Take your own amenities for showering and cooking. The cleaner needs to pay more attention to detail às we found other peoples underwear and socks in the bedroom. We removed several large cobwebs also. As we were departing we met the cleaner and informed her that the kitchen tap falls off constantly to which she replied, yes I know, the owner is aware and hasn't attended to the problem.

So glad you enjoyed your stay and apologies for the niggles you experienced. The door lock has now been lubricated and the tap fixed. We did try to repair recently but did not have the correct tool with us at the time. Your own toiletries and food items are the responsibility of guests as notified on the booking website. We do encourage our guests to have a thorough look through the rooms to ensure all items are collected.
