About this property
Lost on the Lake-Cozy Cottage with a Lakeview
The cottage on lost lake is cozy, serene, clean, and has all of the amenities of home, but away from the mad rush. Sitting on the deck and enjoying the 100 ft. Pines and taking in the lake view is the perfect escape from it all. The cottage is on a private road. It is accessible all year round. When you enter the cottage you are welcome by a large kitchen/ dining area, accompanied by a large living room area, all with tongue and groove vaulted ceiling. The cottage was lovingly built by a couple who live on the same lake. There is an immediate sense of serenity, and space. There are 2 bedrooms in the back. One is a Queen iron wrought bed with lovely oak furniture, many drawers, and large closets. The other has very new and solid full bunk beds with a twin trundle. In the living room, the couch is also a queen-size pull-out bed. There is one bath. It is really 2 rooms. The double sinks, and vanity, and washer and dryer are in a room adjoining the bathtub, shower, and commode. This property also includes a paddle boat, row boat, 2 canoes & 1 kayak.
For larger families looking for additional space, we also manage a property next door that could sleep another 4 people.
The deck has a small iron table and chairs to accommodate outdoor dining.
It is a walkout basement, with an adjoining dog kennel so that you can let the dog out in the middle of the night without having to suit up for a walk. **PETS! Airbnb may only charge you for the 1st pet, you will be requested to send an additional $50 plus tax ($53) per pet. Our pet policy is $50/pet plus tax. The lot will accommodate parking for a trailer, and a few cars. The entire property is 3 acres. Right off of the road are a number of trails that will lead you through the Hiawatha national forest. You can enjoy them by foot, snow mobile, snowshoe, cross country skiing, etc. Truly a place for all seasons. We would ask, out of courtesy for the neighbors. That snowmobilers would respect the 15 mile an hr. speed limit on the private road, and refrain from making noise with the snowmobiles after 10PM.
The cottage is set up with a phone and internet. There is a tv with a DVD player. There is a collection of DVDs to choose from.
*** There is a doorbell camera mounted at the entryway outside.

Good spot to stay for some of my getaway’s, so many options all around and rental has a lot to pick from to help enjoy your stay...
Clean clean clean.
Comfortable warm everything that was needed.
Only thing that in my opinion needs to be part of the stay is Satellite tv
That was horrible other than that very nice
The location was great! It was very close to Munising. The dog run in the backyard was helpful. The property had a kayak, paddleboat, and a canoe. We had a great time on the quiet lake in the early morning. We didn't catch any fish but it was still a great time. We visited many nearby waterfalls and attractions during our stay. Thanks for a much-needed vacation!

Reviewer Comments:
I'll start by saying that overall, this is a great getaway rental for either a couple or small family. While the property says it can fit up to 9 it really is about 5-7 people (depending on if you bring an air mattress and have any kids) for comfort. Anything more will negatively impact your stay. The bunk beds seemed a little concerning since the top one isn't secured to the bottom one on the legs, rather just set upon it.Aside from the downsides, the property is very well maintained and has a beautiful view of the lake in addition to other amenities such as the boats for use, trails nearby, a grill, etc. We visited in early May which turned out to be perfect with a mix of cold and warm days in addition to less bugs.
Overall the cottage was great! Neighbors were close but it still felt private. The deck was a peaceful place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the wildlife. The location was Close to restaurants and waterfalls.
All the boats were in really nice condition however the row boat could not be used as the oar locks were broken, missing, or damaged. One canoe paddle was also duct taped together. The hill going down to the water was a little steep- nothing of concern if you are fit and steady - however if your gait is unsteady this may be a concern.
There were some cleaning opportunities in that spider webs had not been addressed and some soap build up in the washing machine. We stayed for a week and needed to change out the TP however there was not a single extra roll.
Overall a great location and I would go back and pack a roll of TP:)

The house was great, very clean and the heat was turned up nice and warm when we got there. Beautiful quiet weekend. The only bummer was the ores for the tow boat were broken. The plan was to fish all day Saturday in the row boat but without ores we had to use a canoe. Still got out on the lake but that nice row boat would have made a better fishing day

Location was great and the actual house was nice too. Old cozy vibe with a little bit of a dusty texture. Only downside was there is a significant taste and smell of sulfur from the water.Property Manager was not great, minimal communication and when I asked questions, never got a solid response. The team did the job, they got us in and gave clear instructions but did not communicate well outside the copy and paste messages.

We had an amazing week! The house was very clean and it had all the amenities we needed. There were also no bugs or spiders around the deck or on the paddle boat and row boat. We felt very comfortable and at peace! I highly recommend viewing the stars on the paddle boat late at night! We also had fun renting an ATV and exploring trails to waterfalls. Great family vacation!
The property was exactly as described, it was welcoming and very family friendly. Being able to have our pups and a small fenced in area for them to go outside was definitely a peek! We will be back and highly recommend this location.
The lake is quiet and far enough from the touristy parts of the area to be peaceful and uncrowded, but close enough to stuff that you're not driving endlessly to get to civilization. The mattresses are super comfortable, and we really had everything we needed to just chill out.
Lost Lake cottage was a clean and warm (during an exceptionally cold week) and a reasonably supplied home. The appliances were older but functional as we chose to eat all our meals in. We had messaged Pictured Rocks to ask the host or owner to add some towel racks in the bathroom. There was nowhere to dry our towels except on hangars in our bedroom closet. They replied that such amenity would be added. Though the home small for four men, it met our needs for the week after our first private rental was found flooded. We were helped through a local Munising friend, who found this VRBO rental through Pictured Rocks Realty on such short notice. Again, we are thankful to the Realty office and our friend for salvaging our week of snowmobiling.
Very nice place!! I took my boys up here snowmobiling for a long weekend and it was a perfect fit for us! Very clean and the property owner is awesome and very helpful!!

nice cabin - nice location
Nice cabin - close to Munising - beach and yard need some TLC. Would recommend.
Lodging was comfortable and we had all we needed. Enjoyed the extras like birdseed, outdoor equipment and kitchen utensils. Didnt get a chance to fish the lake but fished nearby areas.
It was such a great place! It had everything we needed and we're looking for in a vacation getaway. Perfect views, a place for our dog, and near places we wanted to see. The house was so cute and peaceful!
