This was a great place to stay! We had 4 adults and a small child and there was plenty of room to sleep, bbq and hang out and have friends over for dinner on the large patio. There are tons of chairs for everyone to just relax. It comes with a private boat launch and boat slip which was convenient for our 4 days on the water. Clint, the manager was very accommodating when I called to see if we could get an early check in and he brought extra towels right away when I requested them. The place was clean and well stocked. Very pretty grounds and friendly people staying in the other cabins onsite. The most central to businesses/store and restaurants on the peninsula. Highly recommend this adorable cabin.
We do a family 4th of July gathering up at the lake every year and needed some overflow space! This was a clean, comfortable space right on the lake, had plenty of space/parking for our needs, and actually stayed cool during a heatwave!
This was our 5th year staying in the Peninsula. This year was cabin 7 which is very spacious & beautiful. When we go each year in mid October its always so quiet. Best getaway ever. Highly recommend Beautiful

This was a perfect spot to spend a week in our favorite area. We spend a month or more up here every year and we consider this area our other home. This is the only area (county) we come to and vacation. It was peaceful and quiet and we had the whole area pretty much to ourselves.
The cabin was listed as ‘well appointed’ and they did not disappoint! We expected to need to make the usual run back into Chester to Holiday Market to stock the refrigerator with needed items and condiments, but some of those were already on hand.
The kitchen is beautiful and my husband loved the countertops. I loved the deep couch and curling up and binge watching some shows with him in the evening. The beds were comfortable and dreamy to sleepy in and my son couldn’t decide which bed in the bunk room to sleep in so he tried both!
A little heads up, if you are tall, you will need to duck to avoid a load bearing beam and when going through doorways. My husband is 6’4 for reference, so six feet and under you are for sure safe, everyone else - watch your melon! But by no means let that deter you because this place is fabulously awesome.
One other minor thing to be aware of in the winter only, and this really only applies to folks who drive cars and don’t have a lot of room to pack things out. In the winter, you have to pack out your own trash. It wasn’t a big deal for us as we are country raised and drive trucks and had plenty of space to take care of the trash. Five Stars! WE WILL BE BACK!
Check in was a breeze, house was very clean and well stocked. My only recommendation would be to offer more bath towels and beach towels but other than that we will be looking forward to another stay next year.
We have stayed 3 times in the peninsula area for my Birthday twice at this particular resort. We love this resort the best. We rented cabin #6 this time it was AMAZING. Hope to get again next year.
This was our first time staying in this particular cabin. It was everything that was advertised. It’s very close to the lake and comes complete with a boat dock, which was a necessity for us. We definitely would love to stay again
We were here July 5-10, 2021. House was great. Lake view, quiet, kitchen well stocked, clean, and well decorated. Loved it. Would definitely stay here again.
Very clean, close to everything on the peninsula. Loved the boat slip and ramp that are included. Our family had a wonderful time. The owners are amazing to work with. Very communicative and responsive. We’ve already booked for next year!
First time to Lake Almanor. Found the house to be very well equipped in the kitchen as well as being very clean. Unit is close to the water, 50 yards, but not on the water. The grounds were perfect for the family and dog. Would stay here again.
The owners were great and allowed us to check in early. The location of this cabin couldn’t have been better. Plenty of amenities for playing, cooking and barbecuing. Boat rental right next door. People staying in the surrounding cabins were respectful of quiet hours. This is a great value and I will be back next year. And your second stay is discounted.

Could've been much better. Top floor people were too loud
The owners are very accommodating; we were allowed to check in early.
Kitchen is well stocked with cooking/eating utensils. The outdoor bbq works great. The boat ramp and slips are very convenient. View from the patio is unbeatable.
Several good restaurants are close by.
Though not clearly stated in the listing, this is a downstairs unit.
Only complaint is that the bedroom carpets should be replaced or better yet eliminated. The rest of the unit is not carpeted.
Overall, we had a good time and the property was clean and well equipped for our stay. There were some minor bumps that I think are worth pointing out:
Parking is limited in the winter since some of the parking is filled with snow brims from the plow. It's a bit of a slippery driveway and neighbors that aren't the most considerate with how they park, so that was a minor inconvenience.
Direct TV did not work the entire time we were there, but the property manager was very responsive and worked hard to try to correct.
This unit is a daylight basement, not just the lower level of a cabin. I didn't realize that until we arrived so the unit was a bit darker than I envisioned.
Because it's technically a basement, the ceilings are low. I'm pretty short and when I lifted my arm in the shower I bumped my hand on the ceiling. It was fine for me and my vertically challenged family, but If you're 6' tall, I don't think you will be comfortable in this home.
So, overall, it was a lovely time. You are right by the lake with a nice view and it's a very relaxing location. I wanted to point out a few things to just help the next person make an informed decision.
Cozy bottom level cabin with great views of the lake.
A perfect cabin for two or for a family with two-three small children. Comfortable Queen bed in master and a bunk bed (full/twin) for the kids in the second bedroom. Kitchen had every thing you would need. Nice dining room table for meals. Very Cozy. It was a perfect getaway for me to find peace and serenity. Thanks to John and Clelie.
My partner and I (and dog Oreo) had a lovely, relaxing time at the cabin. While it was definitely a cozy fit it was perfect for the two of us. We loved being a few steps from the lake and right across the street from a yummy restaurant and gourmet market. The couch is super comfy as is the queen bed, and the water pressure is great. Next time we will bring a kettle for my tea and our French press. The owners are super responsive to messages and the neighbors friendly. Thank you for a fabulous getaway!
A great gem by the lake. We spent our 2nd Thanksgiving in a row here. Last year it was snow showing at Lassen. This year we kayaked in the lake one day and snow hiked the next in Lassen.
FYI while there is wifi do not plan on being able to reliably stream video.
