A warm and comfy house that invites memories of grandma.

We highly recommend this neat, clean, spacious cottage. The yard had lots of romping room for our basset hounds and Carol and her husband are kind, wonderful folks who go the extra mile to make sure your stay is a comfortable one. Westwood is full of friendly, smiling people who don't hesitate to point visitors in the right direction. We will definitely be staying here again.

The house is very quant. Lots of old trinkets and furniture that goes back to the 1950's. Big living room. The area around the house is quiet and is perfect for pets of any size. Its all gated so pets can roam. The house is old but charming. We had a nice stay.

Too smoky to stay.

There were several large fires that were closing roads and creating so much smoke that we were not able to stay in the home. There should be more photos of the area that the home is in. We had friends drive by and the homes next to this one and the neighborhood were less than desirable.

The property was not clean

My 1.5 year old grandson got hand foot and mouth. The beds had crumbs in them, on bed cover looked like it had barf on it, the vacuum was broken so I brought my personal shark down. The house was not clean and now my grandson is sick.

Very Cute Comfortable Cottage

We had a very comfortable stay at this very cute cottage home. It was spacious enough for the 6 of us & enough gathering space & a lovely fireplace to keep us all warm during Fall. The owner Carol & the manager next door were amazing, very quick response on any query & very helpful. I'm looking forward on coming back again.

Not Rustic but only Run Down

AVOID THIS PLACE! If this is supposed to be like Grandma's house, she must be dead and stored in the place somewhere. Dirty, unkempt, cold, small, with TV's, lights, plumbing and much more that did not work! Not worth the overpriced rate; better to be found in area. Glad to be gone; will not return.

Just like granny’s house (or my Aunt Effie’s house) in Alabama

We enjoyed our stay very much. If you’re expecting a luxury vacation this isn’t the place for you, but if you grew up or had family you stayed with in the country and you like quaint, comfy, antique-type old style furniture this may be the place for you. The neighborhood is older and parts of It are in poor shape, but our area was very quiet and the neighbors we met were very friendly. Lake Almanor is only 6 miles or so away—and my husband caught his biggest rainbow trout ever, 6 lbs plus (he did catch and release so it’s still there to grow and be caught again...) on our first day out. Exciting for us both! I’ve not spent time at Lake Almanor and now that I have I know why my husband loves the area so much—it’s absolutely some of the best of God’s country, gorgeous! We will be back! Oh, and did I mention the price us right?
